Right now Im planning on going with cams this spring but am not sure if I should go with BBR or COMP (Doug) I think I will really make up my mind once I get to hear a sound clip of the cams from Bamachips (Even though Doug said its not much of a change over stock)

Also EmperorJordan lets say I get the BBR Cams, install them, everything is well: How much should I expect for a tune? Could you PM me your final price when you were all said and done with the swap?
I can probably do the install myself, but again you have to spend more money on the special tools required. I know I can install a supercharger or turbo kit.

Yea most people say the most complicated part of the cam swap is the valve springs.

I think max2000jp is right.... its alot of cash for the gains that you get. The car is a totally different animal with cams, that's for sure but after you pay for installation and tuning you're almost half-way to the cost of a blower, or twice the cost of a nitrous system.

I do gotta give credit to 2006GT500 and emperorjordan though for buckin' up and gettin' them- .

I appreciate it. I'm probably doing the install tomorrow, hopefully we'll be finished tomorrow night. My friend has all the tools, but when I spoke to Comp they said no special tools were needed. I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Yeah I could tell. We are almost finished. We hit a snag or two nothing worth mentioning. Overall it really hasn't been too bad just time consuming, and we got a little rain today so that didn't help. The springs are a royal pain. Jordan we haven't had to use a special tool for the 3v springs, I'm not sure who told you that one is necessary but we didn't use one. The car should be finished tomorrow and depending on what we think it might be at the track this weekend. I need to get it on the dyno as well so that Doug can send me a tune. I'll let everyone know tomorrow.

There is a short video clip in my other thread. I have been swamped with work and classes lately and haven't been to the dyno or the track I will try this weekend.

I posted this after this thread once the cams were in still haven't had an opportunity to get on the dyno yet and it might be too cold to get to the track. But there's a video in this thread if you need anything else let me know. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showthread.php?t=55718

Above 3500 rpm it screams and it seems pretty much the same as before under that, which was no slouch. I love them and would recommend them to anyone.

Install would be easy having done it once, and my friend and I will do it cheaper than just about anyone I garuntee you. We'll do it for $600 bucks. You don't need any special 3v tool either. Still haven't gotten to the dyno and I'm pretty frustrated by that.

Are these the Brenspeed Cams with his tune, and are you serious about the $600 price? I see you're not too far from the Dallas area, maybe when I finally bite on them, I'll take you up on that.

You didn't use a special took to install the springs? Then how did you do it,please let me know as It was a PIA for me but that's the only part of it. Everything else was a breeze.

Yeah $600 and we'll get it done for you.

Doug we just used a spring tool that my friend had for doing 2v springs. It was still a PIA but we didn't have to buy a $300 3v specific tool.

lol, Doug is the one who told me about the 3v tool. We had a friend at a dealer who hooked us up with the tool.

Doug how much power did you pick up with the cams? Did you have them in when you came to STL?
