Why no tune? I don't think you'll see much difference in performance without a tune. The HP numbers claimed by some manufacturers are so high on the RPM curve you'll hardly ever notice in daily driving. I went with JLT CAI and Bamachips tunes. The responsiveness is really improved with a tune and I'm still running 87 octane.

None of the above. Do a search.

Personally I vote for the MRT CAI...

Is it the best intake on the market? I doubt it... but what it lacks in performance it makes up in style!

the dealer won't know if you flash the car back to stock when you take it in... if you have REALLY have to take it in...

Not neccesarily true at all. There are a few that make respectable numbers without a tune. All in the 12-17 H.P. area.

K&N, MRT, AEM and Airaid all make CAI's that don't require tuning. I have the Airaid, and it made a big difference, plus it's the ONLY one that's convertible to make a larger MAF opening if you want to get it custom tuned. The best of both worlds

My vote is with Tony... Get the AIRAID... No tune required... I loved mine when I first installed it without a tune... Love it even more with my custom SCT Xcal2 tune... The nice thing is, you don't have to replace the AIRAID when you decide (and you probably will in the future) to go with a custom tune... Just remove the AIRAID Modular Venturi Tube (MVT) to make a larger MAF opening and get it tuned... Why spend money now on an intake that you will have to replace in the future... With the AIRAID, you can have the best of both (No tune now....custom tune later)!

I went with the S&B mainly for looks and I don't want to do a tune here since there are no tuners that I know of. Simple but I like the filter enclosure. This was before the AIRAID came out and even then I didn't really like the look of it. But, if I had to do it over, I would go with the AIRAID. I'll probably be switching in the near future.

You should definately look into getting a tune. Don't sweat the dealer over a tune!

C&L is the best in my book...
