C&L w/ Predator tune

I just called C&L and was told the cai and Predator combo will be ready for the 06's in about a week. They said they are finishing up loading the new 06 computer codes. They also said in about another three weeks they are going to be offering a new cai w/ a predator tune with a larger plastic inlet pipe. It will be about $100.00 cheaper than the current cast inlet pipe. Just an FYI to anyone considering this mod.

We already have the 06 files for the C&L and the GT's so if you don't want to wait for the Diablo tuner and C&L you can go with an X-calibrator. I've already sold two C&L/x-2 kits to 06' owners.

I just purchased the C&L and tune for the 06 from Doug, it's like night and day in how the vehicle responds. More power and better throttle response.

emm what is the diffrent between SCT X-Cal 2 and diablo what can sct xcal 2 do that diablo doesnt and what does diablo do that scat xcal 2 doesnt??

Here is what each manufactuer has on their site. I don't believe the list on the SCT is a complete list of it's functionality, because I know it can remove or adjust the rev limiter and same on the top speed governor, but those aren't listed.


DIABLOSPORT PREDATOR TUNER

Dual timing adjustment points (2000-4000 RPM / 4000-7000 RPM)
Timing table (+10% / -40%)
Dual fuel adjustment points (2000-4000 RPM / 4000-7000 RPM)
Fuel table (+40% / -15%)
Idle (+/- 20%)
Global Timing adder -6 degrees /+4 degrees

Re-Calibrate Speedometer for Gear and Tire Size Changes
RPM Shift Points, adjustable via MPH

All of these parameters can be adjusted on the DiabloSport tune and/or the factory tune


SCT X-CALIBRATOR 2 TUNER

FUEL ADJUSTMENT
Wide Open Throttle:
6% Leaner to 14% Richer

SPARK ADJUSTMENT
Global Spark: -5 to +5 degrees
RPM Adjustment Spark:
0 - 2000RPM: -14 to +4 degrees
2000 - 4000RPM: -8 to +4 degrees
4000 - 8000RPM: -8 to +4 degrees

Diagnose Check Engine Lights & Clear Trouble Codes

AXLE RATIO SELECTION
2.73 to 5.14 Ratios

MAF SELECTION
80mm to 90mm Lightning SCT Big Air BA-2400 & BA-2800 MAF Meters

TIRE SIZE SELECTION
205/65/15 to 315/35/19

FUEL INJECTOR SELECTION
19lb to 60lb Fuel Injectors

OTHER SELECTIONS
Idle RPM: -300 to +300RPM
Cooling Fan: On / Off Temp
Traction Control: On / Off
Two Step: On / Off & RPM

SHIFT ADJUSTMENT
Automatic Transmission Shift Schedule:
WOT 1st - 2nd: -3 to +7mph
WOT 2nd - 3rd: -4 to +8mph
WOT 3rd - 4th: -5 to +10mph
WOT 4th - 5th: -5 to +10mph

I don't know that I would worry about the differences in the two tuning devices. They are both pretty close in doing the same things, however, I think SCT is the better choice.

The KEY is the availability of SAFE and QUALITY Tunes from a QUALIFIED Tuner along with after the sale Support and Customer Service. Here again I think SCT is the better choice and Doug at BamaChips can't be beat in my opinion, his tunes are Awesome and his customer service is Excellent. Do a search during the past year on this forum on BamaChips and read the post. You won't find not 1 member that is unhappy, they will all have positive comments.

Can someone tell me the difference in the tuner disabling the traction control as opposed to the traction control button on the console instrument cluster.

The difference is that you have many people who praise guys like Doug and Brent for their tuning abilities with the xcal 2 and very little on the predator.

Predator is a waste of time, xcal2 is king just because of the tuners for them, not to mention features.

The new C&L intake? Are you guys referring to the "race" intake system with 95mm plastic inlet tube that costs about $100 less? From what I've read, this system makes less power/torque than the "street" system.
