I was up in the air on this too. After several e-mails and speaking wth Brent White from Brenspeed on the phone and the fact he is 2 hours away. I decided on the C&L and the X-cal2. Brent was great on the phone. He loaded my tuner today and it Should all be here next week. The X-cal2 can be updated on-line and it is just a USB cable. No power or serial cable needed. Brent is a great guy, highly recommend.

Got my tuner yesterday (07/25/05), Brent was waiting on his shipment of the C&L's should be next week.

Receive my C&L CAI today (07/26/05), guess what I am doing tonight?

Product support is my number priority and it seems more distant in some areas.

What kind of things can you do with the tuners? I guess if you get a CAI you would want a tuner to change some things... sorry for the ignorance, if you get a different size wheel can it fix your speedo? do you need one if you want to put a new exhaust on?

Installed my C&L and an 87 octane tune tonight. All I can say is OMG.
I really thought most of the stories I had heard were bunk. But, it is true. Brent at Brenspeed thanks.

Is it just me or is it taking incredibly long to get a K&N tune? I just installed the Predator 93 octane "Performance Tune" and richened the fuel a bit, but I'd like a tune that's made for it.

Other than that, she's galloping.

Does anyone know if this combo comes w/ the SCT 2 tuner for $625?

From Brenspeed website:
"C&L AIR INTAKE WITH SCT CUSTOM TUNE 2005 GT

BIG BIG power gains with this combo. C&L Air Intake System and an SCT X-calibrator custom tuned for your 2005 Mustang.
$625.00 "

I'm still trying to justify the extra $$$ over the K&N setup ($500)...

The extra money gets you C&L specific tunes, the K&N/Predator $500 only includes the 'canned' Predator tunes.

I would say that is a Xcal. His price for an Xcal 2 is 675.00 free shipping. He is a great guy. Ordered mine on Thursday afternoon had the tuner Monday and the C&L Tuesday. He includes 3 tunes.

I have a C&L CAI. A quality setup machined from aluminum.
I have a SCT from Brenspeed also, runs well, no problems
