It looks like they've paired it up with the Predator tuner and implemented a custom tune specifically for this system in every Diablosport Predator. Seems a little pricey for both though.

Wow, that price is up there! You could almost purchase 2 NOS kits for the same money and far better hp/dollar even in safe amounts. I see that they offer the tube seperately if you have a filter from another company. I think that the $159.00 is a fair price for the tube but other manufacturers are coming out with this tube, like MMR who report that their tube will be made from plastic/composite materials and anyone with the MMR intake can upgrade as well.

I agree, they have had more time to work on both, so I hope they can get you a few more ponies out of your money!

That is same price as MMR. I thought the MMR CAI was $200 plus $150 for the tube and heat shield. Then a SCT unit was about $400 with the extra wires. That brings it to $750 as a total package.

Nice set up - will be interesting to see the final dyno pull with the Diablo in the mix for total hp gains. A bit confusing though on the "Tunability" of the Diablo vs. the SCTXcalibrator.....sounds like the Diablo has one tune built in with adjustable parameters?? And the SCT has various Tunes available - just that you have to download them via the net?

Also, can anyone confirm that the Diablo Tune can be easily reflashed back to stock - for service/warranty purposes?

I feal the pain, I want a cold air intake system as well as a computer reflash, but for $700 bucks that's crazy, especially for minimal gains. Price should drop some I would think once more products or on the market.

the diablo you can get various tunes

but you also can adjust fuel and timing maps yourself, turn things on and off, etc

it also data logs, and works as an obII scanner on your car and others...

in my opinion the diablo is a much better deal,

the ONLY thing the xcalibrator has on it is being able to hold more than one tune, but you can get as many tunes as you want for your diablo as well, just not store them in the programmer

the diablo computer interface is also alot cheaper (under $40)

i personally wouldnt use the SCT, i dont like the lack of control

Rumor has it that the warranty repairman can tell that you flashed/reflashed your car. So it seems there is no need to flash back to stock.

Rumor also has it that the service guys are hoping you say you flashed it so they can come up with every reason not to cover warranty work. If I have a problem I will reflash back to stock. If they say I flashed the CPU then my response is "Prove it and if you do prove it you need to prove what I have done caused the problem".
