Same here. My auto wouldn't so much as chirp the tires unless I was accelerating around a corner. Thanks to Doug, the car barks them nicely going into 2nd and 3rd, but still doesn't sit and smoke 'em at a stop. I really haven't tried the brake thing, but as far as performance goes, NOT smoking the tires just shows how good the traction is. I had a '73 Olds Cutlass that would leave strings of melting rubber hanging down off of the rear quarters, but it didn't impress anyone. It was just a big old car with poor traction and cleaning off the rubber was a pain. I'd rather launch like the previously mentioned bat.

Intake and Tune will really wake it up...mine squels them when I romp it and then again on the 1-2 and tries on the 2-3

I agree with 2k5GTC and Jayhawk...it's not worth the abuse and/or damage you could cause on your powertrain and tires... never, never, rev her in neutral and shove it into DRIVE...that I definitely remember from my younger days with my '64 Impala SS (had to replace the auto transmission soon thereafter...it was a dumb move and costly)...

Try adding this. Tires should smoke pretty good. I will test my theory Saturday after I finish my self install.

I dunno I WANT my car to hook not spin. Spinning just means you have a traction problem, not good. I have found that driving cars with high hp and low traction just frustrating. I guess I just don't get it.

Do burnouts harm your car in anyway? I am just curious...

I did a few yesterday, 2 really mean ones where I almost lost control of the car, but I kept it under.

I know your burn the tires quicker and am assuming possible brake wear from repeated use???

Who's Kenny Belle and what are you doing with boxes with his name on them? Mail fraud?

Seriously, I'd be interested to hear how it turns out. My brother-in-law spent one weekend earlier this summer dropping a KB into his '03 GT...had it dynoed at 390RWHP.

Good luck!

+1... even though burnouts are fun, I really only want to do them them when I choose to do them (e.g., at the track, right before a run). Not every time I try to launch hard on the street. That's the main reason I got rid of street radials and went to drag radials. Driving on the street was becoming a little too "adventurous".

Well it's not "good" for your car, but it's not like your running it past redline continuously or tossing nuts into the intake manifold. It's just wear and tear. Stop and go traffic, cold starts, short trips, things like that are more detremental in the long run IMO.
