Bump Steer with Wider Tires?

I recently installed a set of Steeda Ultra-lite springs, and drove for about a week with this on stock rims no problems, ride was not noticeably worse than stock. This weekend I installed 18x9 wheels with 275/40/R18 tires all the way around, and the main thing I'm noticing is a tendency for what I could only describe as "bump steer" pretty heavily. Is this a side effect that everyone experiences going from 235 to 275 wide wheels (front/rear)? I have not had the car aligned since doing the spring install, and plan to this weekend, could that be the culprit?

So far the handling seems great with the new wheels/springs, but the bump steer makes the car a little more difficult to control it seems.

I run the same size wheels and tires in the summer months and switch back to the stockers in the winter months and I feel the same thing you are talking about. I am not sure if bump steer is the correct term to use but I notice that they will track in a crack or seam in the pavement more the the stockers do also.

Yup, exactly how it feels to me. Car handles great with 275s on all 4 corners, just have to be careful on rough roads.

It's not bump steer, it is the wide tires you just put on. More tire on the road, will track in the uneven/rough road.

The bump steer kit helps out a TON tho. I can hit a nice bump with hands barely touching the wheel and my car wont fly off the road anymore. Before that I would do the same and almost end up in a field. It truly is night and day difference. 255/f, 285/r

one more thing to add. After they put the bump steer kit, they needed to add a camber kit because it was off quite a bit. Only like $20 bucks for that tho.
