Broke a bolt...need a little help

Hi Guys,

I was installing my BMR strut tower brace and one of the strut tower bolts snapped in half (not really sure why because I hadn't tightened it that much yet). In any case, I don't have access to a garage at the moment so I havn't had a chance to jack it up and see what I need to replace. Does anyone know where I can get this bolt? Do I just call Ford and get one from them. I assume it is easy to replace?

Also, is it fine to drive the car in the mean time with the 1 broken bolt?

Thanks a bunch.

I unfortunatly can help with this

I broke 2 of them when I lowered my car. I was told that the bolts could not be replaced seperatly. I had to replace the strut cap. At that time it only cost 17.99 don't know about now. Since there a TSB on the poping while turning they had it in stock. The worst part is making sure the bearings don't fall out when putting the new cap on. One more thing the torque on those bolts is only something like 25lbs.

Thanks. I sent you a PM for more info.

Can I still drive it around for a while before installing this? I am not going to be able to do it for a couple of weeks.

You got to be really careful. He is right, 26 fl/lbs is all. Try some antiseize next time to help it out some.

good luck
