datalogging is done all the time...it is totally legit, and safe and more accurate than surfn would be able to get by guessing himself. Their are several guys or shops out there that specialize in just this and they do it so much its like having the car there, they just need the numbers, there is a guy down here in SD that is a whiz with any SN95 you send him the info he will organize and keep track of your datalog and create awesome tunes of it, too bad no one around here is that savy with the 05 yet. The guys at Lingefelter can do this with any LS engine blindfolded.

heres an update on Surfns tune since he is now in Havasu for the weekend. He got the tune while at work as you know and went home and put it in the car, he said everything was working great until he started heading down here to SD, on the freeway the fail safe came on and as he was moving across lanes to pull over the entire car shut off, engine, power steering, radio, everything. He coasted to the side of the freeway and tried to wait it out and see if it was a fluke but the car wouldnt restart, fortunately for him he had the tuner in the car and he reprogrammed the car back to the stock tune and it started right up with no further problems, he called the guy in Florida and left him a message as obviously they were closed for the day, so no idea what went wrong. But does that make sense the whole car turned off? I thought it was suppose to only go into a limp mode and still run until you can get to a service station or something. Seems dangerous.

Did he check under the hood? What CAI is he running? Ironic that this happened right after some people saying this way of tuning is bad and others saying its good. Not commenting myself.. just identifying the irony.

yes I know I chimed in on the conersation too supporting it. Oh well. He is running K&N and the tune was suppose to be for his exact setup, the only thing I can think of is that Surfn forgot to mention that he doesnt have the HC Trap in, that might have been the problem if the tune was deisgned for it. I dont know we will need to wait until probably tuesday to find out, dont know if the shop is open monday.

Concerning the engine shutting off. I have had the "inertia" switch poop on me twice in the last few months. No reason for it to do so. Once was after stopping to get gas and the other was after siting all night in the garage.

It will cut all fuel to the engine and just a quick poke with my finger in the drivers footwell access and all is better. The dealer said that they have seen it happen a few times to people tooling down the road as well. Just a thought.

I got a fail safe mode with the JLT tune he gave me.

Something fishy with it.
