Brenspeed Vortech Package No More?
I was looking around on Brenspeed's webpage and ever since they created their new website, I couldn't seem to find their Vortech supercharger package (the one TacoBill currently has). There are only Paxton's on there in the Paxton/Vortech. Did the discontinue the Vortech package or am I mistaken?

It is not on the site, but it is in the Breenspeed Downloadable Catalog. $4199 satin, $4452 polished.

That Brenspeed/Vortech package was deemed too much power for the general public to handle.

Worth noting, the Vortech & Paxton blowers are basically the same blowers. Doesn't one of the two companies own the other? They look identical, other than the name stamped on the ID tag.

according to the websites, the vortech v2 sq is rated up to 680 hp and has a maximum airflow of 1000 cfm (cubic feet/min). the paxton novi-2200 otoh is rated up to 1000 hp and has a maximum airflow of 1450 cfm.
of course i could have misunderstood what i read so i may be wrong.

I took a tour at Vortech facility a few months back and they told me that they merged with Paxton, but still operate as independent companies. Only that they work together to share technical/engineering information.

At a recent Mustang gathering at a friends house, there was a 2007 Shelby GT that was Paxton supercharged by Shelby Automobiles. I was looking over his blower and comparing to my Vortech, and other than the intercooler and polished finish, it looked the same. Here is a pic of his, then mine...
I think (although I don't know for sure) that Vortech and Paxton are marketing their blowers seperately, yet using many common pieces in their blowers now.

Depends on what blowers you're talking about. The blower that comes in the Brenspeed Vortech kit is basically the same that comes in the base model (non-cooled) Paxton kit that you can buy from Paxton. Vortech uses the same blower in both their non-cooled and their 'cooled kits. However, Paxton does not. They have their 1200 non-cooled kit, and then their 2200 'cooled kits and the 2200 is a noticeably larger blower. Between the Brenspeed Vortech kit and the Brenspeed Paxton kit, the Paxton is the larger blower and can support much more power. This being said, the Vortech can still support 500-550 rwhp- I know because on my car last year, we put a really small Vortech pulley on the blower and the car made over 500 rwhp with the most conservative possible.

How come the Paxtons on Brenspeeds site don't look like this? It looks like it runs into an intercooler...

That setup is using a liquid-to-air intercooler- that's what the square contraption is leading to the throttle body. This 'cooler is mainly used on Vortech systems and is the same as offered by Vortech for their 'cooled kits.
The typical Vortech kit comes with a liquid-to-air cooler, and the typical Paxton comes with an air-to-air cooler. But, remember they are interchangeable. I ran the Vortech blower with Paxton 'cooler last year and had great success. I preferred the Paxton 'cooler over the Vortech because I personally don't like the looks of the Vortech and also I believe the Paxton design offered a cooler air charge for street use.
