Brenspeed auto trans tune question

Finally took the plunge and ordered the SCT from Brenspeed with the 87, 91, and 93 tunes. Here is my question. They tell me that they raise the rev limit to 6800. Seems high to me so here is my concern: if I floor it on the highway to kickdown a gear to pass, does this mean that my motor is going to be hitting 6800 each time?

Anyone here with a Brenspeed/auto tune that can chime in and tell me what to expect? I am trying to decide if I should tell them I want a lower rev limit. I don't want to grenade my motor.

Well only if you keep it pinned until it hits 6800rpms. I have a Brenspeed tune but mine goes to 6500. What mods do you have that they think you will be pulling more power after 6500??

Car is stock except for Boomtubes. I am going to ask them to set it at 6500.

I have Brenspeeds auto tune now for over two years. Mine is set at 6500 rpm and I don't see the point of going higher. And I have cams to boot. Unless you get off on numbers I say limit it to 6500 rpm. And your car is not going to shift at that point it is only the rev limiter if you like put in "N" and rev the hell out of it. And "NO" if you slam the throttle down on the highway it will go to 5700-5800 and shift. The rev limit is not the same as shift point.

EDIT*** mis-read that u said rev limiter...Still say there is no reason for 6800 but they would know more about it than me.

Thanks. I think I was confused by shift point vs rev limit. I asked them to set it at 6500 anyway.

I have mine at 7000.
You can change it yourself in the SCT user settings so just set it where you want it.
