I've got 25,000 miles and my brakes are a joke at this point. I want to take the car in for it's 30,000 mile service. Will warranty cover this? Is this just a case of changing out the pads?

Also are aftermarket brake pads worth it?

Brake pads are generally not covered by a 3/36k warranty.

Aftermarket pads I cat answer that. Im ordering Hawk HPS Performance pads, stainless lines, and performance brake fluid next week, only because I plan on running a road coarse all day in HOT June.
so until then, no comment on the later.

I'm thinking of putting some Hawk pads on my car too. I just had the car in at the dealer, had the rotors machined under warranty due to a vibration. They did not change the pads though, pads are not covered after the first 1 year/12k miles.

at 25,000 miles toss the pads and rotors and go aftermarket!!

my stock pads lasted 5 laps at the track (the car had 1800 miles on it)

the stock stuff is wimpy, and when your replacing the rotors take the backing plates off

What exactly do you gain by this?

lol I was going to ask that too. Im use to getting rotors for 10 bucks at work, none of my suppliers carry slotted rotors

130 a rotor is hard to bite for me.

by taking off the backing plates you get more air to the rotors so the brakes will run cooler.

granted i never plan on going off road with my car, so i dont have to worry about cloggin the brakes with mud and dirt so i took off the b-p's

Once the rotors are off, its 3 little bolts. Very simple.
