Boss/GT500 rear diff cover install

For those that are interested in doing this mod, here's a photo of the parts. I moved the axle vent from the axle tube to the cover and capped off the axle tube hole. This solved my problem of getting gear lube all over the right hand axle tube and wheel. Cost me about $85 in parts.

Dan, Perfect timing! Please let me know where you purchased that plug. I have all but that part to do the same modifications to my pony. Thanks so much.

In attempts to revive this a decade later… Did you find any way to plug the other two oil cooler ports at the bottom by the drain plug? I can’t find a fit to them. How can I tell if they have been drilled?

the finned diff cover that I installed on my car did not have any "oil cooler ports at the bottom near the drain plug" so I think the simple solution is to buy the one that does not have those, like KC suggested above

pretty sure I got mine from tascaparts.com and it cost about $80 (with no bolts) if I remember correctly

I realize I have purchased the correct cover. Curious what those ARP bolts are, I’ve heard stock ones don’t fit with this cover. Send me a link if and when you can

I don't know the bolt size/thread off the top of my head, but you need the same thread as the stock bolts but about 1/4-3/8" longer for the thickness of the finned cover
