I don't shift into 5th, unless I'm doing over 110km/h in an 80 or 100.
At that point, I'm past the sub 2000rpm range where drone is. (And yes I have 3.55s)

It isn't that hard to alter habbits to get around it.
I'm not going to say it isn't bad, but its completely livable in most situations (unless your going up hill, on a cold day, with the windows closed... making the engine chug.... then drone kills)
So what do you average, about 12 mpg?

11.2L/100km
which equates to...just over 21mpg (most highway)

But in the city it goes to around 13L/100km
anywhere between 16-18mpg depending on how heavy my foot is...
(I shift between 2500-3500)

and with those shift points and cruising points (3rd in the city) (4rth in 80km zones) (5th in 100km zones) the real time gauge is usually 4-5 bars

Hey all,

Gotta join this thread! I just put my FRPP (Louds) on this weekend and yeah, got the same nearly unbearable drone that many others have gotten. It's almost embarassing to drive through small towns. However, being a man and suffering from hubris, I am dumping cash on some resonators to fix the problem. I love the (LOUD) rumble too much to go back to stock, not to mention the new kick in the A$$ you get when you jump on it. Soo, I hope to have them installed this coming week, will let you know how it sounds. It's a little easier for me because I got them 1/2 price from another forum member, and I installed myself. So another 100-150 to get them sounding right is a small price to pay. Man, I love this car...just can't say that around the spousal unit!!!

I do love the sound of the FRPP's when not in the drone range and the tips look fantastic. If I can kill most of the drone with some resonators I will be a happy camper! I'll report back on the results.
TW, Have you installed the resonators yet? I was wondering what the FRPPs sound like now...

I started this thread and after several months... and ultimately purchasing Flowmasters, I've finally decided to go with the FRPP/Stingers. I should've done this 5 months ago...

Haha! And I posted in this thread that I preferred the Corsas; only to switch to Borlas 6 months later. LOL!! Actually I guess if the Corsas weren't so much louder with an offroad H, I probably would've kept them. Oh well, you can't go wrong with either brand!

I must be a real wuss. You thought the Borla's were tamer with the off road H pipe than the Corsas. I only had the Borla's with the off road Mac Prochamber for 48 hrs. before putting back on the stock muffs. I guess it is really true. I'm just getting old.

I switched out my Corsa’s also. When I put my Kooks LT’s on the Corsa’s became louder and raspy sounding so I installed the GTA mufflers and am very happy with them.

I believe it. The Corsas become animals when you start pushing alot of air thru them.

My Z sounds more like a classic Stang than a new one does.
I only read the first few pages of this thread as it is pretty long. But the above had me laughing for a few minutes.

I have never heard a V8 mustang that sounds like an angry weed wacker. But ya never know.

Our cars sound great for what they are. Certainly better than the 99-2004 series imo.

But, with that said. I have not heard one yet that even comes close to 60's 400+ cubic inch big block sound.

I have not heard borla. But the Corsa seems to sound nice. It hangs a bit low in the back though. I heard the GTA's recently and for the price they almost mimic the corsa's a bit from the outside anyway.

Check out TacoBill's vids. His come as close to a 60's big block sound as any modern vehicle I've ever heard .
