Better suspension, Roush or Steeda?

Hey guys, I was wondering what your opinions are on who makes a better suspension set up for road handling, Roush or Steeda? Or is there someone I don't know about who beats them both? I've got a bone stock '07 GT at this point and wanted to upgrade the suspension before I got any power upgrades. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I did the Eibach prokit (which i think is cheaper) steeda shocks and struts and bmr lca's.. Pretty much ur basic suspnsion setup..Been installed for over three years, haven't had a problem and the suspension has been great..

What roush has done with the 427R track pack is awesome but that is quite a bit working together including whatever ridiculous tire they are putting on them.

A lot of guys use Koni shocks and steeda parts. There are lots of options to mix and match components but Steeda seems to have some of the better stuff albeit more expensive.

It all depends on how extreme you want to go ($$$) and what you expect in the end. IMO, the basic but most beneficial for a daily driver is a good set of shocks and some mild springs. Maybe a adjustable panhard. The reason I say mild drop is the lower you go the more you disrupt the cars geometry and that can negatively effect handling. At some point you need to start buying more parts just to correct the problems. You can see the list I have and I think that is a good selection without sacrifice. The strut mounts are a higher cost item and you could probably go with a GT500 mount and be ok. If you need to adjust camber you will probably need plates. The Steeda mounts are top notch and have camber adjustment. On the more extreme end you could do adjustable shocks, watts link, and sways w/ links. If you go lower than ~inch, you will possibly need adjustable control arms (upper and/or lower). My opinion is use a mix and match of the vendors and research who makes the best part in each category keeping in mind that some things do work as a system and some parts work better together than others.

I'm happy with my setup, which is Koni adjustable shocks/struts, Steeda Ultralite springs, GT500 front strut mounts, Eibach sway bars (same as FRPP), and Steeda panhard bar. I do have Steeda strut mounts on order though, as I'd like a little more negative camber than the -1.5 deg I have now.

Thanks for the advice, sounds like everyone just went with the mix and match approach. Guess I should do some more reading to find a setup thats right for me.

I did Steeda sports, the Steeda Pro-Action shock/struts, GT500 strut mounts and a BMR adj rear panhard. Handling is AWESOME, night and day difference! I'd like to add a fatter rear sway and better endlinks. The Steeda sports aren't super low, but handle great and I don't scrape my driveway.

There are a lot of choices out there but first and formost I think you need to decide how much of a drop you want to do. Also if you want to retain the higher in the rear or level it out look? I had the pro springs and loved the way I could get around the corners but didn't like the rough ride I got on certain roads. You feel evey dip and bump in the road with them.

There are choices out there, but many of them are someone else's product rebadged (Eibach Springs for rebadged with company x name for example). We are one of the few that actually design and engineer their own components in house. We also manufacture a large majority of them in house as well.

We have plenty of options for great handling with ride quality, or full competition.

As far as pricing goes, you will always find someone giving something away. When compared to the well established retailers we have competitive pricing and we also offer discounts to TMS members.

Check out our website and you can PM me with any questions.

Steeda parts are really high quality for price. I've always had great experiences with their parts and customer service. It also seem like Steeda is the only place that has actually realized that when you lower a car it changes the front geometry and offers solutions to correct it.

Mine is pretty much Steeda - Sport Spring, Pro Action Struts and Shocks, Rear Sway Bar w/Billet End Links, Adjustable Front Sway Bar, Adjustable Panhard Bar, Heavy Duty Panhard Bar Brace, G-Trac Brace, Billet Lower Control Arms, Adjustable Upper Control Arm, Billet Strut Tower Brace, Billet Camber Adjusters. Then UPR Control Arm Relocation Brackets anf FRPP SVT Strut Mounts.

If I would change anything I would go for Tokico D Spec Struts and Shocks.

I'm not looking to go super aggressive with the modifications. The car is my daily driver and I never actually take it to any tracks, I just would like the car to be able to handle better on some of the back roads in the Texas hill country. I would think a 1" drop both front and back would be as far as I want to go and then a strut bar and rear sway bar to try and stiffen up the body. If I put in new springs though, I might as well put in new shocks as well. The question is, if I put in new springs and shocks is there a need to add anything else to compensate for those springs and shocks.

If you want to give me a call, I'd be happy to help. I have way more variety of parts/brands than any other company I can think of... and I recommend what I think will work best for *you*, and not everyone will get the same recommendation (though many will get something similar), because it's based on a conversation between us before any parts choices are made.

I am a full Steeda dealer but I also do lots of other things too.

I prefer Koni dampers, and Steeda Sport springs most of the time. But frankly I can't recommend anything solid without talking you first.

See my modifications. Fits your description well. I put about 100 miles a day on mine.

Everyone and their brother is doing something for these cars. I suggest you call and talk to various vendors (not just me) and get a sense of their thinking. I know for me, I want to talk about what *you* think about *your* cars and not just assume you want A, B, and C based on what I think. Everyone is different. Most folks have similar thoughts to my own, but not everyone--and that's important. If you don't do that, it's akin to hiring a contractor to remodel your house and not ever discussing what you want and hoping you get the result you were hoping for.

I wish that I would have called Sam before I did. I would have done things a little differently. It's a good idea to take time to do plenty of research and listen to people who have been there. Spend time to look at the big picture instead of thinking I have this much money right now and I just want the best for the money I have. Save up your cash and get a package of parts that work together.

For instance, when I was getting shocks I was just going to reuse the stock strut mounts because I didn't want to spend the extra cash. After talking with Sam I decided to wait, save up and get the Steeda HD mounts. I am so glad that I waited and got better mounts.
