if you want function SSBC is good for front and back, if you want something more aggresive, Baer or Wilwood

I would recommend the Wilwood front kit. I just installed these on my car and they are great, install was fairly easy for the fronts.

Call me biased, but look at this

http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...&b=AP%20Racing

If you want a 6-piston 14.25" we have that also.

Look into stoptech, they make the brakes for Roush, Saleen and Steeda. Stillen makes nice stuff, their 6 piston kit is a bit expensive however.

expensive brakes..

Thanks Lokius..

thats my problem with this brake upgrade so far...

front/rear seems like it'll cost about $3000-$3500! that is a huge nut!

i'm never going to race this car...never going to track it...

if i make performance mods, i would just like better stopping in day to day driving...highway situations...etc.

take care and Merry Christmas!

Ok the SSBC 14" V8 brake kit is an 8-piston front brake kit for around $2,700 and the rear brake kit is a single piston kit with built in parking/emergency brake. If you are going to do daily driving, just upgrade your brakelines, rotors, and brake pads and you will have a really good upgrade to work for some good stopping power

Most guys runnign BBK's won't ever use them to their full potential. Hell I track my car, but don't run R compounds and race pads. Without those two items, I would never reach the potential of a BBK like Stoptechs. When you run race pads, be ready to be buying rotors frequently.

For performance street and track this is the best combo I've come up with: Baer 14" Eradispeed Rotors w/ the stock 2 Pison calipers. You can get the discs in many different styles. I am going with blank 2 piece rotors. Next add Stainless steel lines and a good high-perf fluid. Russell makes SS lines that you can find around 100 bucks. Lastly and most importantly, you need to select the proper pad compound. I like Performance Friction, but last time I checked they don't have a compound available. Carbotech or Hawk are also great choices. I've also been toying with the idea of a DIY brake duct kit. All the parts are available online and all it takes is some time and creative thinking.

Has Baer finally released the fronts again ? I got tired of waiting on them. I saw a company had them listed on Ebay last nite.

Thanks Max.
Do i need to upgrade rear brakes as well to match the fronts? i read somewhere that just doing big brakes up front would make it unbalanced and not brake that well..

My opinion is that you don't have to upgrade the rear brakes besides pads. Multimatic and SVT didn't feel the need to upgrade the rears, so that's good enough proof for me. The FR500C won the GAC using the stock rear setup, but of course upgraded the pads.

I talked to Baer sales about a month ago and they were available. After that, I have no clue. I didn't buy them because it's winter here and I will buy them in late February when I upgrade my entire suspenion and get 18" wheels.

hi max,
$579.99 is the 14" upgrade kit to current stock GT brakes/calipers...its not the full kit.

i heard this kit really doesnt add much? is that true? is it sustantially better?

It's definetly an upgrade for 2 reasons: Greater thermal capacity and torque.

I would go with the Shelby GT500 brake kit, you can get the whole set-up for less than $1k and it comes with 4 piston calipers. Word is that stoptech and brembo have upgraded rotors on the way for the GT500 so you can just get drilled or slotted rotors than.

The price on that kit has went up since they were introduced to the market. It's a good kit, but I need to run the OEM 17's up front for winter. The Baer kit will only require a quick rotor swap, instead of removing calipers and bleeding brakes.
