Best Aftermarket Brakes??

I need to install new brake rotors and pads front & back for a 2005 Mustang GT Convertible. The new brakes need to be able to take the punishment of high speed braking with no fade or warping. I want to use the existing stock calipers and mountings for the rotors and pads to be installed with. So who makes a quality system that can be retrofitted easily and take repeated high speed (100+ mph) braking??
Thanks--Ugabulldog83

Best bang for the buck are Hawk HPS pads. Very happy with the added performance, no squealing, no fade, not bad on brake dust. For rotors, I got a set of Stoptech rotors off ebay on clearance from a shop for half price, really happy with them as well.

For repeated stops from triple digits, not sure the stock calipers are going to hack it. Your going to need a bigger boat, so to speak.

If you upgrade the the components ( pads, rotors, SS lines, high temp brake fluid ) you should be fine with the stock calipers. I'm still using the stock calipers ( with the upgrades I mentioned ) for road course tracking....and I know other who do as well....we get along very well with the stock calipers.

Agree with Sabre, if you're on the street stopping repeatedly from 100 (mountain driving?) then quality pads, fluid (ATE Blue or Gold are great), SS brake lines, and quality rotors are all you need. If not cutting it, getting some brake ducts will help out as well.

www.zeckhausen.com for info, though not necessarilly the best prices. TireRack is best for that.

I didn't notice a big difference when going with the SS lines, but they are cheap and not that hard to replace. I had a leak in one of my stock brake calipers at only 20K miles, which is why I'm not overwhelmed with confidence in them. Motul makes a good hi temp brake fluid, which is what I use.

Most of my driving is in the 75-85 mph range, with unrestricted speeds here and some folks who change lanes you need to slow/stop quickly from 100+. Are the Stoptech rotors a clean swap from stock rotors, others a clean swap?? The German Ford Autohaus will have to have a clean swap top perform the fix.

Not sure what you mean by 'Clean swap', any aftermarket caliper will use a different rotor. So you swap all the parts out, lines, dust shields, brackets, caliper, rotor, etc. Go to StopTech or Roush and they have the install instructions on there, actually very easy.

Again, though, you can easily get away with the stock setup with fluids, maybe slotted rotors, good pads, and brake ducts if needed. If you're talking about simple replacement rotors, very easy to swap out, the caliper has to be moved out of the way is all.
Baer PBR is another low-cost alternative.

I mean by a clean swap, without any brake mods I could put new aftermarket, quality better rotors front and back and new pads all around that are better than OEM for my high speed driving. No new lines, calipers or other brake parts needed. What rotors and brake pads that are suited for high speed and hard braking are good for that goal!
