BBK Throttle Body / Shaker ?
I bought a BBK throttle body from a friend and I noticed that it is thicker than the OEM throttle body. Has anyone modified their shaker bracket to account for the thicker BBK one?
If so please let me know what you did.

I modded my shaker for a 1/2" TB spacer but wound up not using the spacer after all. I can use it either way now. Actually I did several mods to my CDC shaker, including trimming most of the engine cover off to relieve heat and better access to the "Stuff" under the cover.
The big question is how much difference is there? 1/8"? 1/16? or...?
If it is like 1/8 or so you can just elongate the holes where the bracket attaches to the underside of the shaker assembly. Use a caliper (or whatever) and measure the two.

I thought people were getting mixed results with the BBK TB's. I thought some had problems that they couldn't fix without removing completely.
If I remember right, maybe John, 05 GT-OCD, tried it and ended up removing it.
I could be completely wrong. I just thought it was a mod that yielded little results and sometimes had issues.

I don't like to sound negative about others peoples choices for gear, but I have also heard/read of dissatisfaction with BBK TB,s. I just installed the 60mm GT-500 TB. It is only $129.99 shipped and it comes with the electonics installed and properly adjusted. This is not the $500+ billet TB BTW.

Well this throttle body had all the electronic's installed and has been on another car for several months without issues. This is also a later version of the BBK throttle body and supposely they resolved some of the issues that people were having with them.
There aren't any real gains but throttle response and lag were improved on the other guy's car. FYI

Awesome, thank you! My best friends father in law has an 07 with the shaker hood, I will pass these pics on and see what they think of it. If only they had made them that way from the beginning!
