BBK Throttle Body
BBK Throttle Body
I Purchased a used BBK throttle body off of another forum this week. I did the install tonight and overall I am impressed with the product. The butt dyno says it's an improvement in power but I am most impressed with throttle response. It sounds really good too. Overall I am glad I invested the $200.
Install was easy except for the **** Torx screws in the TPS and cover. One screw snapped and one Torx head got stripped out. Had to use vise grips to get it out. But overall took about 1 1/2 hours.
So if you're thinking about this modification, I would highly recommend it

Update: overall I'm still happy with this TB but I will say when cold the RPMs are kinda high. Also I've noticed the idle fluctuates at a dead stop. Goes from 800 to 1000 when at a red light. Seems to be stable when giving it gas and I use my cruise control on the interstate and it stays stable then too. I have read about a lot of issues with these TBs but so far so good.
I recently installed one & I'm still using stock air box. I've heard once you upgrade to the BBK intake, the idle will subside. Also be sure you matched the tps voltage. I've already had to reinstall the whole throttle body because my car went into limp mode.
