Does anyone have the axle back set up on a 2007 GT?

I have it on my GT/CS. I first attempted to do it myself when I discovered that the bassani axlebacks did not have a notch for the alignment peg on the over-axle pipe. I ground down the peg and bolted them up and discovered that the body of the muffler was touching the bottom part of my bumper. (GT/CS bumpers look a little different whether or not this occurs with the regular GT I cant say.) So I took it to a muffler shop and they cut off the pipes that feed the mufflers, trimed about 1/2 inch off and welded them back on. Bolted them back up and all was good. I like the sound, its a great setup, but if doing it over Im not sure if I would buy them again because of the install headaches.

Hmmm, are the exhaust holes different for the GT/CS and GT500's just slightly different the the reg GT's?

The cutout for the pipe isnt where it was touching. That part was fine. The body of the muffler was too far to the rear of the car and was touching the bumper where that air diffuser curls under.

It touched on both sides. Here's a picture. Its been fixed here but it will give you an idea where it was touching.

I might be able to get you a better one when I get home tonight if its not pouring down rain.

Ahhh, I bought the race AB's. Hopefully I won't have any issues.

This is with an X-pipe attached to the factory cats.

I have the regular non race versions and I love them. A little drone at times, but not earth shattering. The sound these things make when you start the car or go wide open is deep and loud. It makes it sound like a 8.0L, not a 4.6. As my girlfriend says whenever I get on it, "and somewhere a cop's ears just perked up..."

Bassani Tech Support reply - read from the bottom up

Matt,

They are currently working on that. I don't have an ETA. I don't know what
or how much fabricating it would take to make those fit your Mustang.

Do you know if the street ones are going to be available? If I use the
street models for an 05-06 how much adjusting will be needed?

Also can I use the street ones from the 07 Shelby?

When comparing the race to the street would you say the race is more like a slp or borla stinger (choppier sounding and the street is bassier?

So are they saying for some reason basanni is the only muffler maker that does not fit from 05-07 models? Or is that just on the CS?
