Thumbs up Barton Shifter & CJ Pony Parts

Today I had a Barton Shifter installed on my 07 GT/CS at CJ Pony Parts. Wow, what a difference over stock.
This is not ment to get into a pissing match over which shifter is "the best".
I just haven't seen too many posts on the Barton. I realize everyone has their preference, but unless you have a chance to try everyone that's out there it's hard to choose. I chose the Barton because of their reputation, and the looks/materials that went into it.
This is just a heads up for those who are thinking about a Barton.
As for CJ; made an appointment, drove 230 miles from Va, and was in and out in a bit over 2 hours. The extra time was added as I had them install an Eibach front and rear sway bar kit, the first step in my wish list of suspension mods. Can't say enough about the people there, and the quality of work. Even made a pest of myself picking their brains about mods I want to make, and they were more than willing to give me some great advise.

Had to. I'm an old fart who unfortunately has arthritus in both shoulders. Couldn't comfortably get underneath to install the shifter properly.
Been wanting to upgrade the suspension for awhile and figured, what the heck, car was there, up on the lift, might as well have the sway bar kit installed as well.
Most stuff I do myself. As long as I can stand or sit, no problem. Lying on my back on a creeper, working up, no can do. Mind says yes, body says no. All part of getting older.
Besides, it was a nice drive.
Get R Done!!!

O yea no doubt. I hear ya. The shifter on our cars is a real ***** to r&r. Not like the older 3650s and t5s. Those things are cake. You might wanna do rear control arms too. They make an instantly noticeable difference.

Don't let them get on you about driving 230 miles for the install, I did the same thing for MGW shifter and very glad I did, learned alot and it was installed by the guy who engineered the shifter.
The Barton looks very nice, and anything is better than the stock piece.

Yup, going to do a proper upgrade. Talked at length with CJ's suspension guru. Got some real good insight as to the parts I soould get based on the kind of driving I do. Not going to go into the parts they recomended as that would no doubt start another "what I've got is the best way to go" argument. Will be getting springs/struts/shocks control arms and panhard bar. Going to accumelate it over the next few months, make another drive up and have em install it all at one time. Too bad I can't flip the Stang over; than it would be a piece of cake.
