In Illinois now all they do is check the codes, if it has none you pass.

all they do here is make sure there is no check engine lights, no computer involved no light means pass, still need to check about wisconsin though

It looks look like the code test is becoming more and more common. I still remember when "OBD" was another word for "Death of Performance". Now, all the built in diagnostics are really helping to make these cars better and better.
