Bamachips CAI

I just installed it and all looks really good under the hood. However, I have some questions in reference to the tune. The gas station I use has 87, 89, and 93 octane. The tunes I received are 91 perf, torqu and race. I requested 93 tunes from bama. I noticed some pinging after I filled up with 93 probably due to residual 87. Another thing I noticed is that my idle is pretty high now on all tunes except for stock. Do any of you guys use a stock parameters for the exception of 93 octane? BTW, I did notice a pretty significant difference in performance...I had to remind myself to slow down.

Well, the torque tune scared the heebie jeebies out of my wife....he, he. What is the stock idle rpm on the 07's. All tunes crank it up to 800...don't know why? My guess is that the stock idle is 600...

I'm intrested to know if black soot appears on your exhaust pipes from turning off the rear 02 sensors. After a couple of trips, let us know.

I just installed mine about a hour ago, 87 prf, 93 perf and 93 race . I downloaded the 93 perf, and the car drives much better(smoke the tires easier ) I didnt want the 93 torque because I would burn the tires up too quick

Where did you download your tunes. I've called, and emailed bama to no avail. I would like to have a stock 87 tune (one that acts just like the stock tune but accepts the CAI). So far, I like the 91 race tune but it does shift a little brutal sometimes...nice for the weekends. I want a stock tune for everyday driving.

Email Doug again and ask for the 87 performance tune

You should have got the octane tunes that you had requested. I've never heard of someone arbitrary getting 91 tunes.... Go with 87 performance, 93 torque, and 93 race. The other two will not matter as once you try the 93 race you will never go back

I didn't get to pick the tunes when I placed the order. I thought that they would be asking me before shipping it. I've tried calling and emailing to no avail.

OK. Definitely get the tunes for the octane available in your area. It's always safe to go with at least one 87 just in case... but, as mentioned, once you go with the 93 race, you'll stay put. Keep after Doug. He'll hook you up... I know that he's a busy dude, but he always comes through

Rapture, As mentioned, it doesn't really matter what the other tunes are... you'll find out this weekend that the 93 race tune is simply awesome. I doubt that you'll ever go back...
