Today, I installed my JLT 2 CAI and tuned my 06 Mustang GT with a custom tune by Doug at Bama Chips. In talking with Doug about what to expect from this tune I was expecting alot...I was not disappointed. This car never ceases to amaze me. A tuner should be the first MOD for every 'Stang owner. By the way, get it from Bama Chips you will not be disappointed. Thanks Doug!

Yup. You buy the SCT Xcal-2 from him and it will come loaded with tunes of your choice. Then all you do is plug it into your OBD-II port (under the steering wheel), push a few buttons, and your car is then "reflashed" and ready to rip. If you already have an Xcal-2, you can pay him for a tune and he will email you the .xtr file to load on your Xcal-2 (this is what I did).

How much was a single tune? I am thinking of trying one of his tunes. (Already have an X-Cal 2)

Congrats. Doug is an excellent tuner. I can't decide between torque and performance. They are both fantastic. Did you try out the performance tune he sent you?

Can you buy the CAI from him too? I didn't see those on his website? I'm leaning towards C&L.

Yes you can. Doug can hook you up with a C&L / SCT Xcal-2 / Bamachips tune package. Just send him an email through his website and he will answer all of your questions.

Go for it! After reading excellent posts for two months, I ordered mine last week. I am already impressed with Doug through our e-mails, and know I'll be more than happy when the combo arrives. It just takes an e-mail!

I have not tried the performance tune...yet. Unfortunately, since I "flashed" the TORQUE tune in I have not had a full day off and have been working 12 hour days. I'm ready for this 3 day weekend! I'll switch to the PERFORMANCE tune and let you know what I think.

How are Doug's products/tunes cost wise in respect to other shops, such as Brenspeed? Personally, I'm in desperate need of a CAI (C&L) & SCT2 with loaded tune(s). How's the cost difference? From my observations and experiences, it looks like both are extremely good in customer service. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Your best bet would be to email both and find out their current pricing and what they have to offer. Both Bamachips and Brenspeed have great feedback and praise here on the board. I doubt you will be disappointed with either one. It was a tough decision for me but I went with Bamachips based on the torque tune which is awesome.

I look at the warranty issue this way...

1) I haven't heard of anyone having engine trouble that the dealer pointed out as the tune causing the problem. Basically, the dealer has to prove that the tune caused a problem (magnuson - moss act). If anyone knows otherwise then please post.
2) you can reflash back to stock and put in your factory air box for warranty work. There are people here who have done that and had warranty work performed on their cars.
3) depends on your dealer. some are cooler with mods than others
