Bad day for Pontiacs
Killed a late model Trans Am ws6 and a late model Grand Prix V8. The Trans Am was from a 60 roll had him by 4 cars at 110, caught up to traffic so I had to let off. The Grand Prix was at a light and took off next to an 04 Stang GT, and killed it, I caught up to him and got revenge for the 04 Stang lol. I don't like to street race and won't if there is cross traffic, these two locations the first being on a four lane open highway no cross, the second a four lane also no cross traffic. These are my first two kills with the s/c, what a difference, I used to have too work, now its quick and easy.
I love it! You should put check marks on your fender like the old fighter planes after a kill.
Awesome job on the kills. ...but a "late-model" Grand Prix V8? How early of a late-model, because they only came with either the 3800 V6 or with a supercharger attached from as far back as I can really, unless you're talking '70's - '80's.
"Grand Prix engine choices start with a proven 200 hp 3800 Series III V6 and works up from there. On the second rung up the ladder, there's Grand Prix GT's 260 hp supercharged V6. And for those who demand total performance, Grand Prix GXP offers a surprisingly economical 303 hp, 5.3L small-block V8..."

Pontiac offers a 303 hp 5.3 litre V8 in the Grand Prix now. The problem is that all they did was stuff a heavy cast iron pushrod V8 into the same front wheel drive chassis as the Impala. The torque of the V8 completely overwhelms the front wheel drive system and the result is that from a stop you can't use all the power. They also handle very poorly because of all the weight up front.
Also note that GM needs 5.3 liters to get the same hp AND torque as our 4.6s' have stock.
Anyhow good kills there!

It was the GXP V-8 model, and since he just got done killing an 04 brother, I couldn't resist get one back for the stang's reputation lol. Just for the record I was running my street tune 455 rwhp. I'm going to use the 480 rwhp tune for the track only, hopefully this Sat. if the weather holds out, be the first time with the s/c, I want to kill a vett or two lol.
The new G8 that is coming out will replace the Grand Prix. The G8 GT will have a 6.0L V8, RWD, and an optional 6-speed manual (TR-6060, same one used in the GT500).
Then I sat in a regular G8, with V6 and paddle shifters. It was not so impressive. The difference between the GT model and the regular G8 was quite remarkable.
I sat in a G8 GT a few weeks ago. I wanted to buy one on the spot. It was super nice. It had the 6L V8, 6-speed manual shifter, and huge cross-drilled brake rotors.
