Wow I dont know where to begin with this post. Does everyone remember way back when the B&M Shifters first came out and people had the problem of the bolt falling off and in turn disabling the vehicle because it was stuck in gear. Well i had that problem! And luckily, B&M was kind enough to give me a FIX for the shifter.
Well their fix stated that the new bolt should be applyed with Thread-Lock and torqued to 15lbs. So after receiving the parts, I then got under my car, Threadlocked the bolt and torqued it to 15lbs with my torque wrench.
It has been approximately 2 months since this event happened. So for those two months, Ive had no problems, till this afternoon when I go to pull my car out of the garage. Shift it into reverse and pull it out of the garage and into the street, in maneuvering into 1st gear, i shifted it into first gear. Once it engaged in first gear, the shifter went LIMP AGAIN!! "Are you serious?!" I'm thinking the bolt came out again!
So luckily with the car being in 1st gear, i can still move it, so I grab my rhino ramps, jack the car up on the ramps and crawl under. and Guess what..........here is the end result!!!
The threaded end of the tranny linkage snapped right off!!! Leaving the threaded end threadlocked into the bolt!!! Now the car must be brought to the dealer to fix!!!!
I've had it with B&M and this shifter, it is going into the trash!! It is an unsafe and high maintenance shifter!! I dont know what else to do now in this situation, because it can only be fixed by a dealer and I dont know how much of a costly repair this is going to be!! I am literally flamming right now with this.
Any suggestions guys or rough estimate of what its going to be to get a new tranny linkage put in??

Oh yes, thats 15lbs right there! I had my buddy "Cheese302" bring me a torque wrench because I didnt have one and he set the wrench to 15lbs, and crawled under and torqued it! Ask "Cheese302", he was the one that set it for me and he was there.

at least you have some nice pants
Just order a linkage, easy part to replace.

If putting in a linkage is an easy repair, I think I may do it myself. I'll see if I can get with KC and see if he can order me a linkage. It seems there is only one bolt that I have to remove to get the linkage off the transmission and its at the very very top. I'll need a very small ratchet wrench to get up to that bolt. I'll keep you all updated, but for now, when I get home, the B&M is getting taken out and thrown in the garbage.

The linkage just has another bolt at the other end that attaches to the tranny in the same fashion as the shifter attachment. If you're taking your shifter out, the linkage is just as easy to remove.
I don't know what Kevin's turnaround time is, but you might get the part faster if you got it from the local dealer and had them emergency order it.

Well guess what guys, i called my dealer, I can't get JUST the linkage, I need to buy the whole assembly. Which mean's i have to buy a whole new stock shifter and the linkage is part of the assembly! $250!!!! Unbelievable!!!!! I posted in the WANTED ads for someone who may have a totalled 05 Mustang or swapped out an aftermarket transmission. I'm also in the process of calling junk yards around my area to see if there are any totalled 05 stangs. Keeping my fingers crossed, but I am two times worse then I was yesterday towards B&M!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!!

I know two guys who are swapping out their manual trannys for purpose-built AOD auto trannys. But both of them are in SoCal. They are both members at Modular Fords, so maybe you could PM them there if you're interested. One of them is my tuner Adam (screen name, S.T.Motorsports) and the other is Mark (Chevykiller).

Yea, I talked to Adam a couple days ago and he is definitely swamped these days. He told me he's been working like 16 hour days.

It's not B&M. I had the same issue but with the stock shifter. The linkage is just a weak component.

That really sux. B&M = Broken & Messed-up? Hope you get it fixed soon. If I ever get around to buying a new GT, may have second thoughts about a manual trans. especially if weak link is a direct result of Ford cost-cutting. Just be glad you were real close to home.

I may, just for the heck of it, bolt the stock shifter back in as if nothing ever happened and take it to the dealer and tell them that I was driving and I shifted it hard and i heard a snap and now it won't move. Maybe I can pull that off......
