Thumbs up

I'm in dire need to find an axle back that doesn't trumpet with the Pypes Off Road H pipe at the 2500 RPM range. I know this has already been discussed, but I can't seem to remember if the Bassani SS mufflers worked the best. Just a little input from the guys (or gals) with this setup. Thanks a bunch.

All I can say is, I LOVE my O/R Magnaflow a/b combo. Nice, deep low rumble at cruise. Roars like a tiger at WOT. I don't hear too much of the "trumpeting" sound, but maybe you could elaborate what exactly that sounds like.

Corsas do not trumpet with the stock manifolds and Pypes offroad H. I had the SS Bassani before and they trumpeted bad, so did the stockers. The Corsas don't, and they have no drone either. At WOT, they RIP!

From my experience, Magnaflows did a great job of trumpet delete. But, they aren't very loud. I have Bassanis now and they're pretty good too at controlling trumpets, but they are louder than the Magnaflows. Here is a summary of my muffler testing:

1. I originally had SLP PowerFlos. I loved the sound, but eventually decided I wanted something louder.
2. Bought hawgman's Loudmouths from him. They were perfect IMO, when combined with an otherwise stock exhaust system.
3. Installed LTs, hi-flow cats, X-pipe with Loudmouths - Loud as heck, and unbearable trumpeting. Just couldn't handle the trumpeting... it was embarassing.
4. Replaced X with H-pipe - Still loud as heck, with slightly less trumpeting, but still not acceptable.
5. Replaced LMs with Magnaflows - Greatly reduced trumpeting, but not loud enough.
6. Installed KB supercharger and re-installed LMs (hoping for a sound difference) - Back to loud as heck, and unbearable trumpeting.
7. Put Magnaflows back on, and traded LMs for Bassani's.
8. Replaced Magnaflows with Bassani's - Louder than Magnaflows, with just a little trumpeting. Bearable.
9. Replaced H-pipe with X-pipe - A little louder, more aggressive and trumpeting is virtually undetectable.

At this point, I don't intend to do anything else with the exhaust, except install some cutouts in lieu of the hi-flow cats. The sound of open headers is just so frikkin sick... the cutouts will let me get that sound at the flick of a switch when I'm at the track (or when I want to get someone's attention on the street... hehe).
