Axle back install help

Just got a axle back for my 06 gt and was wondering, do I take off the rubber hangers or keep them on the stock muffler and then remove them and put them
On the new one? my axel back is a MBRP and did not come with instructions. Thanks for help

You can reuse the factory exhaust hangers if they are needed. If not no harm no foul.

remove the rubber mounts with the stock mufflers and use them on the new mufflers. The bolts are a little bit of a pain to get to. Ratchet wrench works well

In addition to that, move the rubber mounts over to the new mufflers one by one. If you remove all of them at once, it can get a bit confusing which mount goes where.

Do NOT remove them all at once. The biggest PITA of the axle back install is orienting those stupid hangers. It should be really simple, but laying upside down, and maybe from the side or rear of the car, you'll second guess how they go back on until everything is aligned just right.

Before you remove anything, taking a sharpie pen and tracing the outline of the hangers on the side members (frame rails) is another thing that helps something that should be really simple from turning into a headache.

Yeah I had a hard time remembering which way the hangers went. I recommend taking pictures.
