Good luck Chris!

It'll be a bit hard getting to the mid-pipe clamps without the ramps. You can always fine tune the location of the tips later on.

 

OK its a success, the borlas are are on and dang they sound sweet. I want to thank everyone that helped me out. It took me about 2 hours, ya it was a little long, but for someone who has never ever worked on a car(not even a oil change) i am pretty susprised at myself. As far as fitment, I got em perfect, knock on wood, no need to adjust midpipe.

Observations:
- They sound like a mustang should, deep and very toned. Reminds me a old mach 1 i saw at a car show.
- There is drone around 1500-2200 rpm, but i actually like.
- I think my computer is relearning with a loss of back pressure, Before install 19mpg, After 12mpg, and it happened almost in a matter of minutes. (or mabey its just the fact i have my foot in in the whole time, cause they sound so sweet) [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banana.gif[/img] [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banana.gif[/img]
- O ya, my shaker 1000 is pretty much useless, I dont think i will listen to radio again in this car, the exhaust is music to my ears

Glad the install went well and that your tips don't need further adjustment.

If they ever do fall out of alignment, loosen the over-axle clamp and the mid-pipe clamp, then tighten from rear to front.

I would make it part of my standard toolkit to have 10mm and 13mm ratchet wrenches.

I believe those are the sizes you need to do your exhaust.

 

My Flowmasters went on like a breeze thanks to the tips I read about here in the Forum. I got both sides on whith my car up on my Rhino Ramps in about one hour!

A couple of post install questions. Should they vibrate/shimmer a little? And how far out should they stick? (I guess I really can't control that, but they just seem to stick out)

Using the ramps, are you raising just the rear of the car? And is there actually clearance to drive up on them? If only the rears, drive on or back on to them?

Rhino Ramps scare me. They're cheezeball Pep Boys plastic ramps they claim to only allow a 7.5" tire.

Extremely expensive in comparison, but worth it as even if your car is lowered, you can still use them. They are 14" wide as well.

 

Installed the FRPP stingers today. Big difference in sound at start up, very deep. Pulse at low idle just right, slightly louder than stock, not obnoxious. At WOT, slightly louder than stock. The big difference is the deep resonation around town. There is some drone in 1300-2000 range with peak about 1700 RPM, but I like it as it sounds classic muscle.

They lined up perfectly, no adjust necessary and look great! I'm having a problem with the clamps, especially on the left. No matter how hard I tighten the clamp, after I drive around a while the muffler side pipe slides back on the intermediate pipe about 3/8 of an inch. What can I do to keep the pipe seated? Has anyone else had this problem?

 

Just because something is plastic does not make it bad. I have had my Rhino Ramps for years, and have had everything from Pickups, to Passenger cars, to Corvettes, to Mustangs on them, and they are solid. They are available at Wal-Mart in the automotive section.

 

yes. i installed my 2 days ago with the same left side difficulties. As i tried to apply additional torque to tight the clamp it would tend to pull the two sections apart. I ended up putting a jack under elbow portion of the axle back to keep it from sliding while i continued to tighten that clamp. I was still a bit unsure if i got the clamp tight enough to keep it from working loose. I checked it this morning (which is a day later), and it still seems to be holding firm. Maybe a U-bolt type clamp would be better for this kit.
