automatic transmission shift firmness

06 gt ,saleen supercharger,460 at the rear wheels.will the transmission shift as hard and firm as the old c4 or c6 or even my lightning?mine is suppose to be set as firm as it can be and is alot better than stock but 2-3 and 3-4 just dont have that seat of the pants snap shift to it.kinda feels like it wants to shift harder but something pulls back on it.hard to explain but it just doesnt shift as hard as the older trans.is this normal or should i have some one else try to re do it?

might not shift as harsh as the old transmissions, but with those numbers you might want to try a TCI 5 speed trans. Not only will be good up to 800+ RWHP it should also give you a bit more firm shifts.

I believe it's all in the tune. I have variuos shift firmnesses in my custom tunes. All the way from very frick'n firm (for track) to very slow for winter driving.

I am running Brenspeeds 93 octane tune and maxed out auto trans tune. Let's say my wife hates my 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift firmness even at partial throttle. They have all of Ford's torque management turned off, line pressures turned up and adjusted my shift points at 3000 rpm in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. I installed a Precision Industries 3000 rpm stall converter back in the fall and called them to see if there was anything else they needed to do. The answer was "NOPE"! It really is all in the tune! I can roast 1st, 2nd and most of the way thru 3rd with 275 wide Nitto 555's if that tells you anything!!

I agree with Scott here, when I mentioned my "winter tune" it's also know and labled in my files as "winter/wife" tune. My wife hates my performance tunes, that I love so much. I can't wait for spring to get back into my "fun" tunes.
