and it is 322x1.15 because 1.00 would be his current level because anything times 1 is the starting number .15 is 15% so 1.15 is the starting number plus 15 % in this case 322rwhp is 370.3 at the crank
Not to be **** but you're math is wrong; LBJay is right. We used to call percentage multiplication by 1 "easy math" because it saves the one step of figuring the multiple by subtracting the desired percentage from one. Instead of 322 X 1.15 it should be 322 / (1-.15) or 322/.85 which equals 378.8 at the crank. Either way, it is what it is........ good power numbers!

Can 4.10s be put in an automatic? I thought I read on another forum that putting 4.10s in an auto caused numerous problems.

4:10's can be put in an auto but it seems that some people opt for the 3:73 for the auto and 4:10 for the manual.

That is the correct math.

Tons of people get this wrong so don't sweat it if you make the mistake of multiplying by 1.xx where xx are the losses.

Plus, we don't know the losses to an exact percentage anyway unless you dyno the engine and then the car and figure out the loss this way. Its somewhere near 15% for manuals.

4.10's were made for this auto trans. I have over 40,000 miles with mine and no problems. What you're reading about is not problems with 4.10's but problems with bad installers. They're very tricky and have to be done by someone who really knows what they're doing.

Go with Ford Racing.

You can use this; enter in the parameters that are appropriate for what you have.

I went with 3:73's,either way you get the benefit of some that torque from the engine.I wish I had gone with the 4:10's now but oh well,it is what it is.Maybe next year...

Could I get a price range of what 4.10s installed on a Manual transmission might cost? How many book hours is it?

I paid $169 for the FRPP 4.10 gears, and about $300 for the installation at a local mom & pop shop.

Engine hp is almost meaningless it is rwhp that counts so 322 rocks.

Yay that's my chart!

If you want to see the numbers for different gearing you can change the [3.55] [4.10] [4.30] to different numbers, although I'd keep the 3.55s there for comparison sake. In your case you can change the 3.55 to 3.31 and the 4.1 to 3.73 as that should be about what you're looking for. You can change tire size as well for those running 235/50-18s instead of the 235/55-17s. I also included the gearing ratios for the 3 transmissions and you can put those in under the "1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th" line.

hasn't helped my 1/4 times. I'm not sure about the 1/8. I've never really paid attention to that number.

Well they don't seem to help my times on the factory Pirellis, being as I can't go WOT until after after getting into 3rd gear. Anymore than that, and I just spin thru 1st, 2nd, and into 3rd.

17" ET streets coming this spring....... YES!
