The new line of GTA mufflers...

I opened up the Ford Racing Parts website and saw these mufflers advertised as a "Hot New Product." It says they are louder and throatier...could this finally be the answer to my prayers for a more aggressive/louder muffler than the old GTAs, and still be droneless? I hope these new GTAs are droneless too...

The part number is 5230-SVT1, are these made by Supreme Performance?

Take a look...there is also a picture of them on the Fordracing parts home page in the "Hot New Product" section.

Here's a closer picture of them:

Glad I got mine as new take offs, these are what you call Coporate Greed. They have something good, people buy it, and they mark it up. Notice the SVT in the part, enough said.

They look more like the old M-5230-GTQ, that were made for Ford Racing by Borla..As for being so pricey ? Borla exhaust kits, are usually a bit more on the expensive side, especially for their higher grade T-304 SS..

This crossed my mind. You know, I never have known of anyone that has gotten those particular FRPP borla mufflers.

It's also quite possible, they could be made by Bassani as their exhaust systems, are factory equipped on the Shelby GT500 !

For some unknown reason ! Borla discontinued making them for Ford Racing, and shortly afterwards.. Supreme Performance took over production..

Bassani produces the stock exhaust for the GT500??

Thats funny because they look identical to the stockers on the regular GT's. IDENTICAL. They even sound the almost the same, only slightly different. They definitely do not have the signature Bassani "sound".

From my understanding, it's definitely the Bassani X-pipe w/cats, for certain ! As for axle backs ? I'm not absolutely sure, if the Bassani's are used or not.. it's also possible, they could be Borla axle backs ?..I just assumed, the entire GT500 stock exhaust, was Bassani

My fiancee's mom has a GT500 and I drove it once a while back. The exhaust sounds almost identical to the stock GT. It doesn't sound like an x-pipe to me. I'm going to do some more research though...I'll report back in a few.

I'm pretty sure the GT500 uses the regular GT mufflers and an X-pipe. Which is weird because the GT-H and I think the Shelby GT both use the GTAs.

You're right on the money Jimp ! as both the Shelby GT-H, and Shelby GT have FRPP X-pipes, along with the FRPP/Supreme Performance GTA axle backs

Those look like a new design. If you look at the mufflers made by Borla the tip exits from the side and the new SVT muffler exits in the middle. I would like to hear the new ones.

It's also quite possible, these could be a new design from Borla, exclusively for SVT/Ford racing..

Aside from the drone resolution...I really prefer the old tips on the GTAs.

Rich, that centered tip on the can does look rather interesting!
