Anyone have aftermarket seats?
I have these http://www.sparcousa.com/pseats_street.asp?id=198 in red and mounted them
with this bracket http://www.sparcousa.com/pseats_acc.asp?id=537 (seperate l/r part #s)
and a pair of these sliders http://www.sparcousa.com/pseats_acc.asp?id=156
The install was simple and seats only weigh 16 pounds each, so they are way lighter that the stock seats.
As a word of caution the sliders have to be mounted backwards with this seat( the lever is behind the seat) and this makes adjusting them kind of a pain in the ...I found this out during my install
A cool byproduct of this is that i gained about 4 inches of rear seat knee room, as the seats are thinner.
The red is not an exact match for the factory red in the door panels ect but the still look great imo and they offer enough support that I havent added harnesses to the car. The seats have been in the car for almost a year and still look brand new. I will try to post some pics soon

Just about any aftermarket seat that is recline-adjustible or flips forward for easy access to the rear seat is going to be about as heavy or heavier than the stock seats.
Has anyone had any problems with any seat sensors/electronics? Or maybe that is only an issue with the passenger side sensor for the passenger side air-bag. I may only do the driver seat so it might not be a problem.

I bought these for my T-bird:

They look like the most miserable things you could buy due to the hard polyethylene construction, but guess what? I never tried them out and just bolted them into the car (after having to fabricate a bracket). They offered a lot of lateral support and I once drove on a 12 hour trip with those seats without experiencing any back pain. I later learned that Steve McQueen (the original Frank Bullitt) actually patented his own racing seat design which was copied by everyone after it expired. This was one of the copies, or at least resembles his original design.

I would personaly go to an uphostery shop and ask them to redo the stock seats. They can add extra support to the sides by building foam and adding brackets.
The second most inportant thing is adding suade inserts. The suade wont allow you to slide around in the corners.
I too agree with the stock seats being slippery, especialy the leather ones. However the seats do look the part in the car, as they are exactly spot on match for the interior.
The new stang interior would look good with the seats mentioned above.

Technically, that isn't a "black" interior. It is the interior color accent package. Red leather seats, red door panel inserts and red floor mats (and if you were VERY fast, in 2005 you could also pick up a set of red rear floor mats to match). He also has the Interior upgrade package as well.
I should know. I have both those options on my Torch Red 05 GT. And STILL love it!
But those are nice seats!
