Anyone had Borla Stingers AND Flowmaster ATs ?
Man... I feel like an exhaust junkie... can't get a good fix. I've been running Flowmaster ATs (with stock H & cats) for the past year, and have been real happy with the sound. Very minimal drone and good note. But like others here, over time I guess I've gotten use to the sound and now I'm beginning to feel they are too mellow. My question is: anyone have experience with both Flowmaster ATs AND Borla Stingers? Specifically what I'd like to know is are the Stingers that much louder? The flows have a great note when you open it up (and at WOT), but fairly tame at idle and lower RPMs. I've got an auto, so more susceptible to the dreaded low RPM drone (1700-2000 range). As long as my head doesn't explode, I can tolerate more drone... so tell me, how do the Stingers compare to the Flowmaster ATs in an auto GT with stock H and cats? (i'm in CA, so o/r H not an option). Will my teeth rattle at low RPMs? Thanks
I've got an auto that I used to run with O/R H and flowmasters. While it sounded great I wanted a bit more sound. So I switched to Stingers. There is definetly a difference in sound. Not huge but enough to warrant swapping them out. Plus the Stingers give you this awesome burble during deceleration that the flows never did. The Stingers are also louder at idle. Be warned though you will have more drone. Is it tolerable? That's for you to decide.
Don't let living in CA stop you from getting a O/R H. I didn't.
It only takes about an hour to swap. I'm willing to do this every other year for smog testing.

My first mod was the flowmasters. After about 2 weeks of having them on I did not like how quiet they were and took them off and got the slp lm's. I did not like the tone of the lm's so I got the frpp/stingers and i have had them on for almost 2 years now. The stingers sound the best on this car IMO..They do drone but it does not bother me.
