I have a BBK twin 62 mm throttle body I will be installing on my 06 GT convertible, auto trans. Also have a K&N CAI and CDC shaker tied into the K&N as well as Borla stingers.
Has anyone changed to a performance throttle body and what kind of results did you get (feel, sound , performance etc)

I added one when I bought my car. Although I am not sure of the gains, I highly doubt it hurt anything. It will definitely compliment the other mods you are doing, and anything you do in the future.
Not sure if this is still the case or not, but when you install it, you will need to match the voltage from the stock one to the BBK one, using the brass plunger. It may have been fixed by now, but if not, then you will surely go into failsafe mode soon after you crank the car up for the first time.

If you can, search the forums....... there is a bunch of info on these t-bodies. Bottom line is that they don't add power until you get into cams or full offroad exhaust and some have had reliability issues.
I dont have one but read a post where one brand (dont remember which one) was to much for the stock motor and the motor burned out (and you are stuck on the side of the road). The BBK one states that it uses OE plastic gears in the TB not heavy brass (GMS uses brass)...
+1, I'm with Tom. I bolted Bamachip Doug's own TB to my car. He dynoed it as a 1hp gain, so in other words, a $400 paperweight. It ended up breaking on him and leaving him stranded a few months later. He also said they were harder to tune with. And pop more check engine codes, and the gears are not as reliable.
In other words, I'd put the money elsewhere.
No codes here. While I didn't expect to feel big gains when I put it on, I do remember watching a dvd that came with one of the mustang magazines where they modified a mustang gt at the JDM facility in NJ. He did each mod one step at a time, and then did a dyno run to see what the gains were, if any. I believe that the gains they showed were in the 5-7hp range. I still believe (since I don't chase numbers) that it only added to my overall gains, esp when I added longtubes, tune, CAI, and some other things. Since you already own it, and since you are probably like the rest of us here and will not stop at just a throttle body, there isn't really much to lose.
Don't be overly surprised, tho, when you pop that thing off, and you find the stock butterflies and everything behind them covered in oil....

The money can be spent else where MUCH better. Magazine's will always stretch the truth on gains, and even stretching the truth they only got 5-7hp. Remove the cats from your car go off road mid pipes and see more gains for much less.
Had one on my car for about 6 months. No HP gains but helped throttle lag. Ended up with the car in failsafe mode
and having a wrecker take me to the dealer to replace the TB back to stock after the TB motor locked up. Lucky for me I still had the stock TB and replaced it on the car and the car was still under warranty. So my experience with these is they are not worth the trouble and a costly part.

i was wandering if anyone put the bbk throttle body on there car with the cdc shaker what had to be dont to bolt the shaker down i got the throttle body for 100 so well worth the money for future mods if someone can help me please
I have the Kenne Bell Stage II throttle body. It was an awsome upgrade and I got better top end and better throttle response. It is 135mm TB flowing 1450 CFM (the stock one is 870 CFM).
I did not dyno but this was big gain on my twin screw setup.

Monoblade TB will flow better than a dual due to less restriction.

If you did not dyno it then how do you know you got a big gain? I am guessing track numbers? There are so many other variables at the track that I would think it would be tough to notice a big gain from a TB? Not trying to call BS or anything, I am just curious. I have seen minimal gains with large oval TBs on pre S197 cars. I tried a BBK on my 05 GT and gained nothing but occasional check engine lights.
