My guess is to save on shipping since the new box is tiny compared to the old one. But, in the end I do not think it is a good idea at all. My personal opinion is to stay away!!!!

I'm going to have to put my flame suit on and very respectfully disagree with you there. I'm sure you love the sound, and that is awesome! Especially with the all the trouble and fitment issues. That's great that you love the sound.

But I did not like the sound of the Pypes Offroad H and JBA A/B's. Neither did the dozen or so other people who heard my car while the Pypes H was on there. To me, it sounded like an old pulp wood truck with no muffler. Most people cringed when I started it up. Some just furrowed their brow and asked what happened to my car. But all said it was too loud. And it stunk.

So to each his own, just my experience.

Thanks. Would you happen to have any pics of the H-pipe before you installed it.

Hatch,
Did you go with a new exhaust system or just re-installed the stock H-pipe wth cats?
Are the JBA a chambered muffler? I am considering an OR H-pipe but the smell and the fact every sound clip I hear the car sounds like a tractor is making think twice.

No flame suit required!!! It is loud, and it is not your normal everyday Mustang sound. But, I would go get some Flows if I wanted the everyday normal Mustang sound. The only complaint I have is a kind of raspy sound going by 2500 RPM that I don't really care for, but it seems like after it warms up it is not as pronounced. Oh, and almost anytime you remove cats you get a little smell. I will try to get a sound clip in the next few days to throw up so it can be heard...

I put the stock H back on. Easier than putting on the Pypes, or maybe I knew all the bolts and how to get to them.

The JBA's are chambered. Very close to stock sound, even a tad quiter than the GTA's. Very quiet at idle and cruise but wake up a bit at wot. No drone with just the JBA's, but I had TERRIBLE trumpeting and drone around 1700-2300 rpm with the Pypes mid on there. Forgot to mention that before, but that was the main reason I swapped it back out.

Glad you like it. Yes, I know what you mean about raspy. I wanted something that was very deep, and mellow, and the Pypes mid just had too much drone, trumpeting, and rasp for me. I must be getting old, ha! All my other cars have just been loud, like ringing ears after a road trip loud.
