Anybody running these tires?

Kumho ECSTA SPT: 235/55/17

I am considering these tires, does anyone have them on their car and if you do would you buy them again?? I'm looking for both the pros and the cons. Thank you!!

BTW, thursday the convertible gets a Hurst shifter, a C&L Street with a 93 bama tune, some Ford-Borla axle backs and some 4.10s!!!

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Bottomline for all Kumho's:

So-so traction, long tread life. So basicly don't expect them to hook worth a **** but they'll last forever.

I have always loved BFG's and considering a set of Ventus Hankooks in the near future here.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3... They hook up and give great wet road traction.

+1 to those.
But Goodyear is coming out with a new F1 with carbon fiber in the sidewalls to make it even better handling. And its considered an all season, vs the GD D3's are not for colder weather or snow.

Yeah, the only problem I had was heavy acceleration in cold weather... they would spin but not smoke.

Thumbs down

I had the Kumho's on my car for only 16,000 KM and they needed to be replaced. Not very good in my book. I now have Falken FK452.

You might as well go with a 255/50/17 if sticking with the stock 17's. A little more width but the same diameter.

Depending on the model you can get great traction or long wear. Seldom if never will you get both.

Sticky tires don't last, long lasting tires don't stick.

This is a truly true statement. You really can't have everything.

Stoenr,
What is the larhest size tire (width) that I can put on my 18" fanblades?
Thanks.

Thanks. Safely is what I want. Going to 4.10's in the next month or so and will need a little more rubber on the pavement.

What's the definition of safe in this scenario? Do you mean they might rub?

I just saw 275's all around on a bunch of Roush's at the dealer.

What width wheel is recomended for 275's? I assume the Roush's at the dealer were 18x9's.
