anybody heard of interceptor obd2 gauge?
correct linkage: http://www.aeroforcetech.com/\
but you can do this and much more already with the xcal2, just need a laptop in the car.
If i can get my laptop a new hard drive, you can use it next month. It is quite handy for datalogging. but that little guage is way cooler

Well right on there page it says ford tech page. It plugs into your obd-II connector and a 12v power supply. It states that all the functions may not work on all cars and trucks, but some will. Obd-II is on all cars and trucks built past some year in the 90's. the whole purpose of putting obd-II on all cars is that you now only have to have one scan tool with one plug in connector instead of dozens. Trying to make cars somewhat more similar as far as electronic diagnosis goes. I bet you this will work just fine now or in the near future as they work on the ford applications. Looks cool, may have to check it out in the future. Good luck

thanks andy that would be great! don't i have to have something downloaded into my xcal2? i downloaded a couple of updates from sct but it wouldn't let me access the files in the xcal2. i'll call jj monday to see if he can install them. since i haven't made any runs with the new tune it would be nice to have some info and the ability to e-mail files back and forth from the race in case changes are needed. i love technology!
as far as the gauge i e-mailed them a few months ago and they said the ford gauge would be readyin nov-dec. i saw on a dealers website that it's supposed to be done now. i'll call monday.

I kinda agree. Who really cares about all that stuff as long as everything is running right. Probably just make me paranoid!!!!

Having a data logger is cool, but I don't need another gauge to monitor with non-critical information. Having that data displayed all the time is useless and could actually be dangerous if a person starts switching between what parameters to look at and not paying attention to the road. Driver's eyes need to be looking outside the car watching out for people on cel phones, not looking at A/F ratio, etc.

i agree about paying attention to the road and not the phone/gauges etc. i think this gauge is perfect for racing applications. it allows you to play back a couple parameters after the run. if any body is a serious bracket racer like me this info is priceless for consistancy and predictions. in other words i wouldn't need a weather station anymore cause the car already has that capability built in to the ecm. by logging different runs and the conditions they are made in it allows the racer to accurately predict dial-ins. knowing what your car is going to run before it does it gives you a distinct advantage. the two most important parts of bracket racing are reaction time and dial in. with my dragster and roadster i had every single run logged in a book so i could reference it when needed. conditions change from day to day and at some races time runs and eliminations are on different days. this is why all that info is crucial. for street driving it's almost useless since everything you need to know is displayed in the dash.
