There is a post below about "best price on K&N CAI" that has branched off somewhat into discussion of the S&B CAI. It is also going to be available as an frpp offering at the end of the year. Does anyone have the S&B unit installed? Feedback???

I would like to know if others are happy with this CAI. I'm about to pull the trigger on getting one since there have been too many delays with the FRPP one. It's either this or the K&N one for me.

If we're talking about the same one, I do. FRPP had this one advertised on their web site but then pulled it. If I remember right, negotiations or something went south with Ford and S&B last year. S&B claims about 15hp, but I can't verify. I got it mainly for looks and no tune required since I'm not getting a tune yet, but I noticed a seat of the pants difference in response and acceleration. Coupled with the JET TBS, I have zero throttle lag. With my AT Flowmasters the exhaust sounds awesome. I haven't had any problems with it. Let me know if you have any other questions. If it's a different CAI, OOPS...

Yes -that's the same one. Good to hear it works well with the Jet TB spacer.

One more question - do you use the S&B cleaning kit for the filter? I bought a couple of the K&N fiter cleaning kits (cleaner + oil) on sale for $5 and wonder if it could be used with the S&B filters.

Thanks - gonna order mine today!

I got the car in late October and put the S&B kit in November so I haven't had to mess with the filter yet. The instructions do have a statement to only use S&B cleaning and oil products or it may void the warranty. That's a bunch of crap because 1) How are they going to know that I used something else (oops, just told them) , and 2) If something is not screwed up from the beginning with the craftsmanship, I don't see having to claim a warranty on it. Here's a copy of the instructions that came with it and the statement is at the bottom of the second page. Pictures are black and white so it didn't come out too good from the scan.

O.K., won't let me upload a 2mb file, so here's a link.

Latest word on release date for the FRPP version is March. Ford claims this is due to tooling problems at S&B. I've waited this long so I'll hang on another couple months...but no longer!

Yay - mine finally came in this morning...no doubt about it - this is what the Ford Racing one would be - Right in S&B's installation instructions, you can see the "Ford Racing" logo on the intake tube. -- just look at Picture #18 in

It looks like the S&B is painted on the plastic. I have a Ford Racing decal that could cover that up

Haven't dyno'd, but no tune required. I've had mine on since Oct and no problems.

Same here - no tune either. Just put it on yesterday and took a short spin on the highway. No problems with CEL. Best part is I got to say bye-bye to the HC trap

I'm guessing that this CAI would respond well to a tune like the K&N one. I hope to get it dyno'd in a few months and hopefully get it tuned with the SCT X2.
