I got the factory Anti-Theft option on my '05, and I thought it was just an anti-car thief protection, but yesterday I closed the door and locked it, then realized that I hadn't closed it all the way. When I pushed it harder to close it, the horn started honking and the lights started flashing! When I unlocked it with the remote, it quit, but I got to thinking: is this just an anti-theft circuit or a full-blown security system?

If it's the latter, I get an additional discount from my insurance company......

It is an actual security system. There are also motion sensors built into your map light.

They work too... I left my windows open but set the alarm when I had to run back into a take-out restarant for a minute because they'd screwed up the order. On the way back I went to set the bag on the passenger seat through the open window. As soon as it crossed the point where the glass would be, the alarm tripped perfectly....and loudly

I called USAA and updated my information with them, but it seems that I already get all the discounts I can get.

Oh well, at least I have the comfort of knowing that I have an alarm that will go off when I reach into the open window to set down a bag of take-out.

USAA is not as gracious with thier discounts as other companies are, but that's because thier rates cannot be beat.

I was reminded that my 05 has the Active Anti-Theft the other day when I lifted the rear end with a floor jack to add some friction modifier to the rear axle. I didn't get it raised more than 2 inches before the alarm went off.
