Thanks againg to TillmanSpeed!! I would recommend them to anybody in any area. They have been in the buisness a very long time and I can see why. Not only the quality workmanship, but the customer service is top notch in any industry that i've seen. Much props to TillmanSpeed

Thanks!

Thanks for the great comments! I'm not here to bash any other shop, I'm just glad this customer got squared away. Every person that works at our shop has their own personal project car. We all know what it feels like to spend money, so we try and use that in our business by giving people the most bang for the buck. Nobody should be in business to make a killing, it only lasts so long.

As long as he walks away happy, we don't care what we have to do. Word of mouth is the best promotion, end of story. Ask Harry Tillman, he's been the owner for 28 years now. Radio ads, magazines, newspaper, mailing lists... it's local reputation that does it.

I'm not posting to get business. I myself have a 1990 GT with a 5.0L, 306 ci, Roush 200 heads, gears, pulleys, manifold, cold air, aluminum driveshaft, MAF, SCT burned chip, tremec trans swap, etc. This is a hobby, and you'll see me floating around the tech boards, as I'm looking to pick up a 03/04 Cobra very soon.

Thanks, and if anyone needs anything, let me know. Not just parts, we can do that too, but I can usually straighten out any tune issues, etc. Just give me a call and we're happy to be the best tech's we can from what we know. We may or may not be able to solve your issue. Any maybe you'll swing your business our way if it works out.

Chris

It's too bad that your shop isn't closer to the Pittsburgh area ? at least from my standpoint anyhow lol. other than Mike from Powerhouse Automotive ? I haven't come across anybody locally who has a great customer service dept. that really knows how to treat their customers with the respect they truly deserve..

I stick with Bama or Brenspeed, not to say others arn't good. On another forum they are bragging how good Evo is, sure can be confusing to someone new.

Bama and Brenspeed are very reputable. The nice thing about our SCT tunes is that each one is done individually per customer. I dont like sending out run of the mill cold air tunes hoping that the customer doesn't have anything they're leaving out, or a different altitude, or extreme weather conditions, etc.

Bama, Brenspeed, and JDM other than us, is the only places I would trust with my vehicle. PERIOD.

I definitely will. I'm getting the car ready for the blower install. I'll swing by when it's done!

On a side note, do you guys do headwork?? I have a 69 camaro with a 412 small block built by Jenkins Competition. I'm looking into getting the heads redone. The heads are GM phase VI aluminum heads, which I understand are very rare. I have 2.08 intake and 2.02 exhaust valves. They were custom ported for this engine. I know the exhaust ports are HUGE. The engine came with custom 2" headers. The bottom end is strong, but the top end seems to struggle above 5000 RPM. The motor is supposed to be good to at least 6000 RPM+

thanks,

Lee

Yea we do full machine shop service. Stop by, we can give you an idea what you'd be looking at pricewise. I'd talk to Chris, he's really good with the headwork. Those heads should be

According to them "everyone elses tunes suck"
And that is why I don't deal with them. Claiming your stuff is great, and bashing everyone elses, are two different things. I called, asked simple questions regarding timing and idle and AF about their tunes with the C&L. I got the runaround and was made to feel like I was bothering them.

I called up brent, had all my questions answered, was treated great, and in a week my car was running perfect. Couldent be happier.

It is good to see that I am not the only one who feels this way. It's a shame to because the guy who owns the shop seems to be a nice guy. I wish he knew how the kid was running his buisness. It sounds to me from the replies on this post that they have lost alot of customer's because of it. But I'm glad it worked out that why, I love the shop I'm dealing with now. Couldn't ask for better

I just love those guys that think they know it all and dictate the terms of the work and allow you to pay for it in the end. These same people blame you when things go wrong.

i purchased my jlt and sct from them and got the same attitude even when i had already payed money ,all they wanted to do was dog me for the size tires i bought (which i think look good )and tell me they will look stupid and still didnt get the revs right and i didnot notice any difference on the tune !i went to doug and he sent me 3 tunes without charge on an honor system withoutknowing me from adam and told me if i did not notice a difference dont pay and then he only charged me for 1 now thats confidence in your product and awsome customer service !! when i asked evo to fix the revs before going to doug they argued with me and told me i must have given them the wrong tire size ,they were cheaper but not worth the headacke!!!go bama!!!

I stopped by as well one afternoon on the way home from Phillly. They were a bunch of tools. It's a bling bling wheel shop and not much more. They usually have a bunch of GT500s parked out front decorating their lot, but I have yet to actually see one in a bay. The shop is a dump - very dirty and disorganized. I was not impressed at all. I think the only reason they're still in existence is that stupid GT500 they ran.

RubberEater.. did you get all the work done AT Tillman's??? I really want to get down there to his shop some time within the next few months. Just wish it was almost 4 hours away!! Oh well.. CR has always been good to me over the phone and when I met him in person some time back. Hey CR... when's the website coming up!!!?? Holla at me as to when you'll be up and running regarding what he had discussed a few months back.

Quoted for the truth. It doesn't matter what business it is. It just seems that business in general, not just speed shops but anything is lacking in customer service.

If for some reason I end up back in NJ I will be cautious of Evo.

That's probably because John Lund tunes their cars...
