another spring question
I'm looking to lower my car about 1 3/4 to 2 inch in back and 1 inch up front. What springs should I get to give me this stance. Who/where should I get them from. I cut my rear springs one inch already and like the stance darn near level I don't want to cut them any more than that. Its an every day driver so I don't want to stiff of a spring. What else will I need to get the job done? Adjustable panhard bar, struts or camber plts or none of the above? Who has the best price?
Thanks in advance for the replies.

Glenn... to lower the front only 1", I would suggest going with the H&R Sport Springs. Use the front springs with your shortened rears and see how they match up performance and balance wise. If they work OK, your set. If you don't like the combo, install the H&R rear springs. If you can stand the hit financially, H&R makes a Coil-over set for $1099, 1.0 to 2.0 in the front and .75 to 2.0 in the rear.
I wouldn't recommend spending the money for camber plates, NAPA and other places on the Internet have Camber Bolts that don't require any mods to the strut holes... they are about $30 a pair from NAPA and I have seen them for as little as $19 plus shipping on the Net. That is a lot better than $200 + for plates. These bolts are good for about 2 degrees of camber using only one set in the lower mounting hole and about 4 degrees with two sets, one in each hole.
You may find the ride a little harsh with the OEM shocks & struts and lowering springs, they are a little to long.. sooner than later you will probably want to go to a shorter damper set made for lowered suspensions, FRPP Stg III's, Tokico D-Spec, etc. If you plan to do the dampers along with the lowering springs, it's not that much different to go with the true coil-over setup.
I have the FRPP's with Eibach Sport Springs and they made a lot of difference in the ride quality over the OEM dampers.

Thanks Moo I want a total of two inch drop in the rear from stock and 1 inch drop in front. So I will be changing out all 4 springs. Looking for a level stance or just a tad higher in the back when I'm all done.

I have the Ground Control Coil-over Conversion Kit with modified FRPP Stg 3 dampers... if you will go to BMC forum (http://www.badmustangsclub.com/galle...c=3&userid=414), look in 'Coil-over Conversion Kit' post, you can see my setup.. My stang is lowered 1 3/8" in the front and 1 1/2" in the rear. If you look in 'MooStang05gt' post you will see how mine looks at this height.

I got mine from Apex motorsports. They list them on Ebay for 699.00 and even throw in free shipping. It took me about six hours to do the suspension replacement. I took a little longer than I planned because I wanted to make sure that I got the torques right. There is a set listed for sale right now at the link posted below.

I think the steeda ultralites are the best bang for the buck. Pretty much levels the car, looks lower then the drop suggests, but is not too extreme to overwork the stock struts/shocks. Drives nice too
