07 GT/CS,
I have 20's and Nitto 555 on front and 555R in the rear with 35 sidewalls. Like you I have Steeda Ultralite springs, and the ride isn't any worse than my 18" Bullitts were. Now given the Nittos have a softer compound than the crappy tires I had on my Bullitts, so that might make up some for the smaller sidewall.

Go with 16's and be different.

I've never seen anything wider than 20x10.5 for the rear for the s-197.

You can run an 11" wheels out back with the right offset and back spacing.

That's a bit worrisome for me since I really like the Razors. You are saying that in the 18" Razors they do not look good? I have the stock 18" Bullitts now but the Razors won't look better? I had planned on maybe doing the 18" Razors with the new tires being the 255/45-18. I've never been a big fan of having bigger tires in the rear so I planned on using the same size front and back.

Do yourself a favor... Before you buy those Razors go look at them physically, compare the 18' Razor to the 20' and you will see which one looks better....

This is just like the Alcoa wheels on the Shelby KR..... Those wheels look horrible in 18's and then in 20's they look great... Of course that's my opinion....

Dude 20's look the best on our cars what are you talking about. I have 20's and the last thing im thinking about is how close or fast can i take this corner.

If you go razors just go with the 20's. you will be glad you did.

Exactly my point... if you were thinking about "turning the wheel in anger," the last thing you would want on your car would be 20's. Show is cool, straight-line go is cool, and carving a corner is cool. It really depends on what you want to do with your car. I know that I'm from the "old school," or maybe I'm just old, but the whole "rubber band wrapped around an oil can" look with cute little brakes in the middle just doesn't do it for me. Then again, I also don't like the "wagon wheel" look of a mid-80's Impala with 24" DUB wheels, either...

I'm not a racer but I can tell you that I haven't slowed for any turns because of my 20's. If I was going to go to the track a few times a year I probably wouldn't change from the 20's, I would if I was going to go 20 times a year. There are some pics of 18inch razors around here and seeing them made me go with the 20's

I'm thinking a better size would be the 265/35-20's, which are closer in size to the stock tires (27.2) at 27.3 rather than the 255/35-20's at just a hair over 27. Or I suppose I could go 235's in front and 265's in the rear. Now I'm torn between the gray and the chrome. I like both equally as well.

I think 235's would look bad on there. I have 255 and they just don't look that good to me on the 9 inch rim either.

My bad, I meant 255 on the front and 265 or 275 on the rear. How are your 295's?

This debate of 18 or 20's will go on forever. Only because these Stangs look good either way. Depending on your suspension will determine the quality of the ride, stance and overall performance.Tires play a big roll(no pun intended) with a 20 inch change. New side wall construction and materials designed into 20 inch tires can take a lot more stress on hard turns so tires companies aren't just selling a piece of rubber that will crumble under impact. No doubt, feedback from 20's is very common.Especially with a lower car where the spring rate is stiffer than stock.
I now run 20's but the ride didn't vary from the 18's I ran previously. The tires are the same model(555's) with only difference that my 20's weigh 5lbs more each than the 18's.
Meet your own needs when you select a wheel and tire size, maybe you'll get lucky and your car will handling as nice as it looks.

does anyone have pics of some S197's with some really wide rims...
I am in the market for some new wheels for my GT500 and want to go with 10'" OR WIDER if it will fit.
