Aluminum Driveshaft Question

I have a chance to pick up an Inland Empire Driveline alumminum drive shaft for half price and it is brand new. My question is that it is a 4 inch drive shaft. I have heard that on lowered cars the laarger 4 inch shaft can hit the floor pan? Has anyone heard of this? I have Vogtland springs on my car so it is not lowered more than 1 inch but will I have issues? Can anyone offer me input?

I had a 4 inch alumminum Coast Driveline on an 06 Mustang with a ROUSH stage 2 suspension and had no issues. You do have to relocate the parking brake cable assembly from the top of the tunnel to the side. And you should have that bump in the top of the tunnel in front of the diff pounded flush or flatter. You should be okay, now if you go lower hummm...

It maybe stated in the install instructions already. Can you get a copy to check? Never assume a shop will do the right thing, some will some won't so it's best to do the research then specify that you want your install to happen the way you want. If fact whenever you take your car to a shop or dealer have your work listed in writing so there's no mistake. I know this sounds **** but you will have far fewer second visits to a shop or dealer because of mis-communication. I attached Coast's instructions...

When Coast did my gears I asked them to install their shaft as well. They preformed the relocation mod and the shaft install labor for no additional cost. May as well while it is on the rack for the gears. Its those little things which make a customer feel good about doing business with them.
