For those who can't wait or afford the Whipple -
e-RAM Supercharger!!! I wouldn't even do this to my Camry. Check out the video - sounds like a leaf blower on steroids. Video 1
May not increase your HP or TQ numbers, but certainly adds to your Bling-bling factor
Merry Christmas all!

I am not totally against adding one if they can get some TRUE hp figures. I know what it is and it seems a joke, but they have a version for the 05 stang - I am very intrested in seeing it
Think about it - easy install, no damage or very little changes in the system, removable if needed, and low cost. Whats wrong with that? As long as they can produce some decent boost, it would be a nice concept.

HAHAHAHAHA Nitrous is same price and tunable to 100+HP gains without having to mod the engine

Do you ahve nitrous, if so do you drive around town spraying ? If my car had a Turbo or SC, it is power on tap all the time. an e-Ram concept would be nice if it would work for us Stangs.
ANd yes, I do drive around town with the WOT lol. I just dont know if spray is the right thing form town/city driving

har har.
Have you ever had one ? Do you know anyone that has one ? I am sure the same could be said about Nitrous, turbos, etc. - the horseless carriage ... at one time
"You want to use the exhaust to get fresh air pressure into the carb ? lol."
Keep an open mind - future thinkers keep an open mind.

You're right, I've never had one. Please feel free to get one. Then you can report back at your next dyno run . . . and save the rest of us a bunch of money

lol.
Well I did not say I am buying one - but I would be very intrested if they can develop a single unti that can produce a higher PSI and a larger dia system that coul dbe used for our stang.
Clear your mind - think of it this way. I spent over $500 on my catbacks with no performance upgrade - and alot of people will probablay do the same. It is becuase we all expect the exhaust to work better because of past history BUT If I could get 30 HP for a bolt in electric supercharger for the same price - I would be very happy. But noone expects the electric supercharger to work, so we are all prejudice with-out first hand knowledge
Until someone can show me that the e-Ram can't, then I will at the very least keep an open mind.
It kinda reminds me of me and my business -= no one said I could get where I am today - noone would ever use web based business software. Well, they do now. Especially the companies that use my software.

By all means, go ahead and get one...
However these 'electric' super chargers are nothing new, and have been around for a while.
Check out the Tornado

Wasn't the Tornado that thing you put near your gas and supposedly it moved the gas in a circular motion. If I am thinking of the right one, that is not electric and you don't know what you are talking about. If Im wrong, I don't know what I am talking about.

I Have No Life
Well there has been a bunch of things like the tornado fuel saver and the Fuel Genie etc...that go into the intake hose to 'save fuel' and maximize blah blah blah....
All crap....and yeah they were fixed.
I actually had one (if you guys were on the site a while back, my uncle tried to pawn one off on me and I threw it in just to prove him wrong)
If they worked, don't you think everyone would have one

The Tornado is not electrical...it's some sort of fan like gadget that you put into your intake and supposedly is spun by the incoming air...this in turn is said to cause some kind of "swirling" effect in that air, resulting in more efficient combustion in the cylinders.
Sounds like a crock to me. Surprisingly, though, my local TV station tested one and reported a 2 mpg improvement in fuel mileage. But I'd have to see a lot more extensive testing than that to believe it. I have a feeling that they just didn't check their numbers very carefully.
As far as electric superchargers: the only one I know of that actually produces measurable gains is made by Thomas Knight Industries. (Going by memory here because I'm too lazy to look this up). But IIRC, it uses THREE electric motors to spin an Eaton supercharger, and power comes from a separate and dedicated battery bank, usually stashed in the trunk. Even then, you only get about 15 seconds of boost before the batteries are drained, and it takes several minutes for them to recharge. So it works like nitrous, except that you don't have to refill the bottle.
Downsides are that you need a heavy-duty alternator, and the batteries weigh like a hundred pounds. Maybe as battery technology improves, that figure will come down some...

Pleeeeeease tell me someone has a pic of that guy with a leaf blower attached to his intake, i've been looking for it for like a half hour. It's the funniest thing i have ever seen. Only problem is that the guy did it to a mustang.
