intake, tune, gears, tires, and a stall converter are the basics

Don't bother with a water pump, just get pullies. those mods should do it

When i ran this time i was with only :

Steeda Underdrive Pulley,
SCT XCAL 2,
Steeda CAI,
Corsa Exhaust,
Bamachip 93 Race Tune.
4.10 gear
On Nitto 555 street tire.

Braking on the line, putting my rpm at 2000. Waiting for the last yellow, release the brake. Floor it. Wait.

My Rear end was lock a little more than stock.

I will change nothing to my mod progress. But this year i started to make mistake. Going to 28" slick was an error. By best on slick is last saturday 13.006. I will change for 26" as soon as possible.

On my table i have my TCI 3000, waiting for a PA deep pan.
As my rear end clutch are dead for the second time i'm also waiting for a detroit truelock.

Next will be DS, EH2O.

You must have some good air up there since we have the same mods I should be doing better.
I can't get the RPM's that high with the stock stall, the best I can do is 1600 -1800 before my front tires start to slide across the line ....

Right Now I have
JLT II CAI, UDP, FRPP 4.10 and MAC Axle-Back
I also use the stock rims with BFG 275/40 17 Drag Radials
my best so far in the 1/4 is
13.31 @ 103.31 1.98 60' ALt 600ft Temp 82 Deg
http://home.comcast.net/~2k05gt/Best-Timeslip07.jpg

my best 1/8 was 8.42. My concern is that my 1/4 mile trap speed is so low
and my tranny is shifting into 4th before the trap..
My tune is from Evolution but I am considering changing to someone else because of the support level.

so from what I have learned so far, after several weeks of research on other forums.
Order you should install your mods....

1. CAI and Tuner... (looks like Bama may be the way to go)
2. UDP
3. Gears (3.73 or 4.10)
4. CMDP
5. 3000 stall (Autos Shifter for Manual)
6. Drag Radials (Weld Wheels)
7. LCA, UCA
8. Aluminum d/s
9. Sway bar removal
10. Headers, Mid Pipes (waste of money if just HP is needed)
11. K-member
12. Prothane engine mounts

then 12's are here yippie...

(Red denotes what I already have installed)

you don't need those last two mods to get in the 12's, not even the torque converter. I got a 12.914 without doing those three mods. WIth those mods you'll probably be closer to 12.5

On auto's here's what you want...

1. Intake/Tune
2. Gears
3. Wheels/Tires
4. Torque Converter
5. LCA's/UCA

There's the perfect combo for a 12 sec auto. To be more specific go with this...

1. C&L "Racer" Intake/SCT XCal II w/Bama 93 Race Tune
2. FRPP 4.10 Gears
3. Weld XP 15x9's/MT ET Street 275/50/15's
4. PI 3200 Stall Torque Converter
5. CHE Tubular LCA's/CHE Adj. UCA

Those are the brands that I'd go with for sure, as some that I already have on mine. My converter and wheels/tires are up next and will be on and ready to go here in the next two weeks or so.

I agree with these guys... if I was starting over, that's what I would do first.

So many people underestimate how important the air (and track prep) is for good ETs. It doesn't matter what mods are done to the car... if the air and track prep are bad, the timeslip will be bad.

There is nothing wrong with that, especially with 4.10s. Hell, mine is in 4th gear way before the 1/8-mile mark even.

12.29 @110.9 n/a auto stock longblock with lots of bolt ons and suspension work

1)torque converter
2)spydershaft
3)tune from bama for above converter
even with the 3.31 gears and the stock air intake i think you can runs 12's with these 3 mods.
the key is getting it to launch and rev quickly
once you replace the converter you will need some sticky tires or else you will just roast the hides during every launch.

Thanks guys,
My next mods then are Spiders Drive Shaft and the TCI3000
can the converter be self installed? or shop only, I know I can do the driveshaft, I am somwhat of an amature mechanic, rebuilt a few motors 20 years ago.

I am installing the CMCV Deletes this week and ordering a Bama Tune since EVO if not responding to fixing my current ones.

How much better is it compaired to others, like EVO, Blueoval, Brenspeed?
My Evo tune is real nice, problem is support. I had some huge lag with the 87 octane evo tune and was trying to get it fixed because I bought all three 87,93,100 tunes but I can only use the 93 because it is the only one that works.

what is bama's policy on tune ajustments and adding mods like the converter
or headers.

doug is a great guy so once you are ready for the install emailor call him and i'm sure he will adjust your tune quickly and resonably. he has helped me tremendously with my constant tweaking and changes
dougs tune dropped my car from 12.60's to that 12.29 with no other changes. i loaded in his tune and instantly went 3-4 tenths quicker and i thought my car ran well at the time so i didn't really expect that big of a drop. i was running 12.60's at 110mph in perfect weather now i run 12.50''s-60's in crappy weather 90+degrees DA >2800ft etc.
