Airaid cai

Has anyone heard any good things about this brand? I've heard good things about jlt bbk c&l and steeda but from my understanding they all require a tune which I don't have money for ATM. But airaid doesn't require a tune but I haven't heard anything about them.

90% of your CAI gain will be the tune. Until then I'd suggest a K&N drop in filter.

They are nice cai's that can be run without a tune.. Its a nice alternative to install and run without a tune and save your $ for a tune later.. You can then remove the maf restrictor and slap a tune on it and it will flow as well any any other cai// My father in law has one in his 08 Gt and its a nice one..

I have and airaid cai on my 07 gt. Works great but i would definately recomend getting a tune with it. When i put mine on i threw a lean code. After the tune it was perfect. Definately wakes the car up a little bit.

did you have the maf restrictor installed? If so the cai will not throw a lean code..

From what i've heard, they make a quality product with OEM like fit and finish.

I've had the Airaid CAI on my 06 GT for about four years. I ran it without a tune with no problems for about half that time, and then with Brenspeed tunes for the past couple of years. Definitely pair the CAI with a tune, even though the Airaid, like the K &N, are ostensibly able to run without a tune. There is a thread or two somewhere where either the folks at Brenspeed or one of the other popular shops dynoed a GT with the restrictor tube in and out and, if memory serves, there wasn't much difference in performance between the two (although removing the restrictor tube definitely requires a tune).

There are other very good CAIs out there, but I have been very happy with the Airaid/Roush unit.

I also ran the airaid for several months and then picked up a brenspeed tune. Just be sure that you don't end up spending more money than buying them together. It makes a slight difference in feel and the intake noise sounds good along with a ~1-2 MPG increase. With a tune though the car completely wakes up. I run with the restrictor in as brenspeed recommended it unless paired with cams or fi.
