Aftermarket Clutch?

I am not really happy with my clutch. I just don't feel that it engages smoothly, and, after 5000 miles, I'm still having a hard time making consistently smooth shifts. Together with the clunky rear end and revs that don't drop when shifting, I've started to dread shifting - that ain't right.

Maybe it's me, maybe there's something wrong. (As I'm sure you can guess, the dealer found no problem.) In any event, I was wondering if there is an aftermarket clutch that would engage smoother. Note that I'm not looking for a "high performance" or heavy duty clutch. I don't race.

FYI, I've been driving sticks for 40 years and had no problem with the '87 5.0 which I owned for 18 years or with any other stick I own(ed).

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Without a solution, the alternative I'm kicking around is a 2008 C-6 - with an automatic.

Get the C6 if you have the money. The LS3 is a beast of an engine.

The 2008 does sound like it's a killer, doesn't it. It's very tempting - just so d@mn expensive for a toy. That's why I'd rather put a few bucks into the Mustang if I can get it to where I want it.

Apparently a good tune can solve the rev hang issue which may have part to do with the smoothness of the shift?

You can always trade for a Mustang with the 5speed auto for alot less $$ than the 'vette.

The thought had crossed my mind...I really enjoyed the Shelby GT-H. Maybe there's a Shelby GT auto with my name on it.

A Mustang GT with an auto and good tune is plenty fun to drive. Sometimes going through the gears in stop and go traffic is a pain.
