I ordered a set of aftermarket 3V cams from BBR the other day, they are finally done. Custom Grind and will be installed this coming weekend. I'll post up some pictures and some numbers when install is complete.

Should be interesting to see the tuning for this. Did you ever get the tuning situated with the P&P heads?

Johnny,
I have heard from good sources that BBR is having a hard time tuning for thier heads. Have you noticed this and how are they coming along?

That's interesting... I was considering these heads myself... can't wait to read the follow-up.

I'm glad to hear that finally we are getting these kind of mods available to us.

Hmmm.... <thinking out loud> I wonder if BBR could provide P&P heads, with a custom cam to match up to a Saleen VI supercharger. Oooohhhhh...

But tuning it may be a PITA.... :bang:

Ok, it's been almost a month. Pics, results, comments, crying? What happened with the cams?

Any chance of getting a direct download somewhere for the windows media file? The streaming is lousy on that site (and I'm on a 1.5 DSL line so it's not my connection). I'd even be willing to host it on my site sitting on a T1 for a bit.

The video feed works fine for me, and that LNR car with the new cams sounds great - when they open the hood, it sounds a little like an old solid lifter car.

Those cams sound so sweet. Reminds me of the old muscle car days. I'm so jealous.

Is that what all of that racket was? Glad you pointed that out, I was wondering when I heard the clip. I do like the lope though, that sounds great. Can you get these cams with hydraulic valvetrain? I would like to get by without that much maint.

The 3V 4.6 is an overhead cam engine - there are no lifters, like in a pushrod engine...

Here is a good overview of the engine -

And a good cut away of the head -
