The 3V 4.6 is an overhead cam engine - there are no lifters, like in a pushrod engine...

It sounds like a solid lifter car b/c it has solid lifters.

yes, they are solid lifters also
that is the valve train noise you hear.
BBR is working on quieting those down a little before they are sold, I don't think it should take too long before they are 100%

UPDATE: FYI
I talked to Chris this morning from BBR, for quite awhile. He was a nice guy that was happy to take the time to talk to me. First of all that noise we were hearing was 3 retaining clips that came off the lifters. They are testing the solid lifters from another company. It trashed those heads pretty good and they had to redo them. The cam's in that vid are there most radical race cam's. They are going to also offer two other's including a street/strip cam, and a mild street cam. They are re-grinding Ford cam's, the street/strip and mild street cam's will be avaliable in about two week's. The race cam heard in that video will take a little longer as they are still working on the tunning to see how far they can go. They will offer the abbility to turn off the variable cam timing. As of now the cam set's are going to be around $825 dollar's but the price should come down as more core's become available.
I'm going for it...I am going to pre-order the street/strip cam. I told Chis about the mod's I have now and that I'm puting down 313 RWHP. With thier head work and cam's I should be knocking on the 400 RWHP door... That's good enough for me, plus I'll have that beautiful lopey Idle!!

No problem. Chris gave me the duration's but I can't remember them off hand. It was early and I was at work... The exaust duration on the race cam in the video is around .460 +/- if I remember corectly (I may be off), it was alot though.

Where are the "lifters" on an overhead cam engine?
Look at the pic below - the cam pushes on a roller-finger follower, and the follower pushes on the valve... What am I missing???

since no one else is acknowledging you i will, you are correct! i have no idea what the rest of these people are taking about. THERE ARE NO LIFTERS IN A OHC MOTOR!!!!

Look at the end of the cam follower thats not sitting on the valvestem...see that hydraulic lash adjuster looking suspiciously like a lifter over there? They have to have some way of adjusting those valves. You guys are correct that these engines don't have "lifters" that ride on the camshaft lobes, but Ford does use "camshaft roller followers" and "hydraulic lash adjusters". These lash adjusters take care of the valve adjustment just like lifters did on a pushrod engine. The "hydraulic lash adjusters" are Item #10 in the following diagram.
